Description: The restaurant offers the elegant 'Sala del Novecento', the spacious and light 'Salone degli Archi', the Tavernetta 'l'antico camino' and the 'La Terrazza' restaurant, also used for ceremonies and banquets, where guests can taste some of the most famous Valtellinese specialties alongside Italian dishes, and which seat up to 300 people. Our focus is obviously on traditional Valtellinese cuisine (we are after all in the birthplace of Pizzocheri and we are among the founders of the Teglio Pizzoccheri Accademy) and the excellent local wines. Throughout the year special menus are offered in collaboration with various local restaurants and wineries. We also offer special menus for groups as well as cookery courses, guided tours of the historic centre of Teglio and of local wine cellars. Closed on Tuesdays (July, August and holidays excluded). Advanced booking is recommended.

Bresaola As starter and sciatt ( fried bitto
Cheese bites) as main dish, both tasted of the real Valtellina.
Great service and location!

Nice, elegant restaurant that serves typical traditional food from Valtellina. Pizzoccheri (buckwheat noodles with cheese, cabbage and garlic) are a must, as well as Sciatt (fried buckwheat croquettes filled with cheese). The selections of local cheeses and cold cuts are also very good. Excellent wine list, with great local wines (Valtellina is a region of heroic viticulture, producing phenomenal, elegant Nebbiolo wines from vines grown on the side of the Alps up to 900 meters of altitude). Staff is very professional, polite and friendly. There is no dressing code, however some good manners from the customers are always welcome. The outdoor terrace is very nice to have lunch "al fresco", however there are too many people smoking without any regard for nearby children or other non-smokers, and that's a shame. Overall it's a very pleasant experience anyway.

We were staying in the hotel and opted to have dinner in the restaurant. The waiter was brilliant with us as we couldn't speak Italian and we were off the beaten tourist track. He had a real old fashioned courtesy and sense of humour, providing us with an English menu. Great terrace out front to sit and relax, watching the world go by. Excellent views of the area, a short walk away. Food was very nice, but the service from the staff made the experience unique. Great stay in the hotel too, lovely charming comfortable room.

When we want to eat good pizzoccheri this is where we come. We always have the Viadante menu which at 18Euros we think is very good value, we started with excellent pizzoccheri then a very large portion of bresaola carpaccio, then a choice of dessert all washed down with a good house wine. Service was very friendy and efficient and we'll definitely be back.

We ate here today for lunch on the outdoor terrace. We took the starter with sciatt, cold meats and cheese. It was very, very nice and the portion was generous, 9 out of 10. Then we both took pizzoccheri. The portion was huge. The waiter brought them in a huge serving dish and asked if I wanted more. We enjoyed the pizzoccheri but to be honest I was expecting a bit better. There were hardly any potatoes or cabbage, just a concentration of cheese. I have had nicer pizzoccheri in other places. I would give the dish a 7.5 out of 10. We finished off with a very refreshing lemon sorbet. I'd come back to try some other dishes, which looked rather tempting.
