I have been to La Torre Golf 3 times before and have always enjoyed it. Its about having your expectations met before you travel. If you want nightlife, bustling bars and to be entertained, then its not going to be for you.
However, if you want to enjoy golf/sun and then have the ability to relax and do things at your own pace, and are happy to make your own entertainment as a couple/group - then La Torre is for you.

The place is immaculate and well looked after by staff who seem to be continually working about the place. Its lovely on the eye and is a pleasure to walk around. The golf course is superb and is a great test of golf for any keen players. I play off 10hcp and it has enough to keep me returning, plus there are several other superb courses all within touching distance - perfect for golf groups to spend time away in the sun.

People seem to get a bit frustrated by the lack of on site bars/restaurants and activities....but there is enough on La Torre to keep you happy if you are not looking to be entertained on a nightly basis. Some of the places are open only in July & August and the rest are open most of the year. The Irish Bar, Golf [Wood House] bar/snack bar, Italian Restaurant and Pino's Bar are all open year round - as is the hotel and its associated bars.
There are a number of restaurants all within 5-10 mins drive of La Torre and some offer a free pick up and drop off service. A taxi into nearby Roldan and Basicias is 10 euros.
There is a supermarket on site which is fairly priced and provides most of what you will need [fresh meat/break drinks and lots of the usual things you would expect at a supermarket. Its about the size of a Spar/Tesco Express in the UK.

The resort is 15-20 mins from San Javier, Murcia, Mar Menor, Los Alcazares and Cartagena and this provides beaches, finer dining restaurants and all the usual accompaniments of a coastal Spanish resort.

In summary, La Torres is a superb resort if you are happy to work at a slower pace. Enjoy evenings out in 2/3 restaurants and then 2/3 bars [which are all open until about 2am]. If you need something a little more lively, then you either have to make the fun yourself or look elsewhere.

we stayed here for a week in a two bedroom apartment. There was a mix up with the room but that got sorted. the rooms were good, it was a shame the majority of the resort was closed. Not many places to eat out.

Beautiful hotel beautiful surroundings...large complex with alot of residential apartments (mainly English owned). Rooms were large and pleasing (balcony a must for views of golf course). Staff were very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Hotel quieter in week then hen party at weekend, but they behaved ! Bar, restaurants, hairdressers, nail bar, shop, supermarket, spa absolutely everything ON the complex. My ONLY gripe was the hotel menu, about 10 choices with no change. In my opinion better to have 7/8 choices with changes every day. Only been going since late last year so just needs some tweaking.
Would definitely revisit.

This place is beautiful, a really stunning hotel. The rooms are really spacious, fantastic bathroom and with a big balcony overlooking the golf resort. Clearly not a busy time for them as the pool bar was closed during the week, and this is something to be aware of if you visit in the months pre June. I went to the spa and that was superb, well worth making use of all of their facilities. We booked the half board menu and after a couple of nights, we were starting to become a little tiresome of the limited menu which didn’t change. When we mentioned this, we were offered the tasting menu for one night at no extra cost and this was stunning. Very nice wines too. 10/10 to the staff for their level of customer service and overall attentiveness. The only comment I can make is they need to speed up their cocktail making, you can be waiting a good 15 minutes.... and that’s with no one else at the bar!
