“Great stay”
Reviewed 9 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

I had a lovely stay with friends here. Comfortable, well located, has everything you could need. Best of all, the best patisserie in town is just round the corner. Recommend.

“Perfect Get Away Vacation”
Reviewed 28 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

My husband and I went stayed here with a few friends for a long weekend, in the hopes of having a relaxing and low pressure holiday. We couldn't have been more pleased with how everything went!

The house is beautiful. With a fully stocked kitchen, games cupboard, and library there was a good amount of staying in, reading, cooking and enjoying each other's company. Nestled into the city-centre of Forges-Les-Eaux, we enjoyed walking around the town and going to the bakery every morning to get fresh ingredients for our truly French meals. One afternoon we took a drive to a neighboring town, saw a bit of the countryside, and had lunch out.

It was a truly beautiful setting, perfectly situated, and wonderfully presented. If you're considering staying here... do it!

“Very nice house, wonderful kitchen!”
Reviewed 13 September 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Stayed in early June this year and this house was very different from our usual French vacations as we normally stay out in the country. This was a lovely change, the bakeries only a couple of minutes away as are the butchers, the delicatessen, the bars, the restaurants, the spa, the lake. We know the area well and being able to take a morning stroll to collect the croissant for breakfast made a wonderful change to having a 12 mile drive. The kitchen is wonderful, everything you possibly need or want, including some you hadn't thought of! We love to cook with local fresh ingredients and this kitchen makes it easy. Going back in December and looking forward to the log fire, as well as the kitchen :-)

“Beautiful house, relaxing stay”
Reviewed 2 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at La Farfollerie in Forges les Eaux. The house itself is beautiful and spacious, and strikes a perfect balance between style and comfort.

Forges itself is a superb little town, with plenty to do, and a great selection of shops, with 2 markets per week selling beautiful fresh local produce. Exploring the local area was very pleasurable - the Avenue Verte, the lakes near the casino, the grounds of the Hôtel de Ville are all good options for a relaxing walk; and the casino and spa at the Domaine de Forges allow you to relax in style. If you are fortunate enough to be in the area when there is a race meet at the Mauquenchy hippodrome, it's an entertaining way to pass an afternoon, and only a short drive away.

Margaret made sure we had all the information we needed to know in advance of our stay, and there was a helpful information pack in the house with information on the local area, along with instructions on how everything worked in the house. Margaret had also left a lovely selection of local goodies for us to enjoy, including a bottle of local cider and some of her own delicious marmalade - a very thoughtful touch.

I'm sure we'll be back for another repeat visit to Forges and la Farfollerie in the not too distant future.

“Great Normandy location”

Ordinary at first glance from outside, this was a great holiday home. It is a characterful French house with good facilities. It kept pretty cool on hot days. The location is great. The nearest, very good, baker is across the road, and there are more. A Carrefour local is a very short walk. There are various local restaurants and the two we went to were very good. We were able to visit Rouen and Jumigieres. Also made longer trips to Paris, Parc Asterix/Senlis(we split up for this: Senlis is a very special medieval/Roman "city" (village really)), and Monet's garden at Giverny. The internet went down a couple of times but Margaret responded very quickly and her local representative came and sorted it, so we were impressed with the customer care.
