I really was looking forward to giving this hotel 5 stars but my last night was ruined due to disorganization...

First the hotel itself is beautiful, the location, the grounds, the staff... we extended our stay by 2 nights we liked it so much! The last night for something special I booked a sunset cruise.. this is where it all fell apart....

The sunset cruise is $30 a person, AND they tried putting us in a tiny canoe of a boat, it turns out the real boat hadn’t shown up. They didn’t really do anything other than say sorry for the mix up and take us back to the hotel. I’m sad that this put a damper on an otherwise spectacular trip.

I highly recommend staying here BUT book any excursions on your own or through a different agency to not end up in a let down situation as we were.

This is the perfect resort for people looking for a quiet, relaxed vacation combined with great service. The manger ‘Babu’ is friendly and dedicated to making your stay as pleasant as it should. Great chefs with special recipes, try their grilled lobster, it’s to die for!
Located on the eastern side of the peninsular, giving you the most amazing sunrises, beautiful white beaches to yourself, that infinity swimming pool overlooking the ocean and the tip of the peninsular is just 15 minutes walk North. Nothing short of amazing…

Room tip: Rooms overlooking the ocean, best to see the sunrise as early as 5.45

Pay 90$ to have this fantastic service
I heard about Zanzibar so I went there from Dar es Salam for 1 night and it cost me transportation & visa & accommodation for me and my wife 300$ then I found what's below:

1- You'll find a variety of creeping and flying insects
2- Disgusting bed sheet and cover
3- No toilet amenities like shampoo & conditioner
4- No WiFi like what mentioned on there site & after negotiations they fix it @ 6pm but it works only in the restaurant ??
5- The only good thing in this resort is the friendly & nice staff and of course the amazing atmosphere on the sea
6- I made a complaint while checking out after only one day and my receipt was 143$ so they made compensation for me 21$ and I paid the rest !!!

Finally I spent 300 + 122 = 422$ for this disgusting room for only one night !!!!

Dear Guests,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property.
We are all disappointed that you did not enjoy your time with us and please rest assured that we will always do everything within our power to resolve any issues that are brought to our attention.

We regularly fumigate the whole hotel to control insects and we spray the rooms every day to avoid flies, mosquitoes and termites.

Some flying Insects can never be avoided unfortunately and certainly not on a tropical Island where living conditions for them is perfect.

We make sure to regularly sleep in a different room ourselves every day just to find issues that might disturb guests.

The rest of the complaints mentioned we found not true to our knowledge, as our House Keeping made sure to stock your room with these amenities

We feel that it is also unfair for you to blame the hotel for your Transport & Visa Fees to Zanzibar

However please accept our apologies that you feel the stay was unsatisfactory and these issues were not fully resolved to your satisfaction as this is not the experience we wish for guests to have.

If you informed us the night before, we would have gladly upgraded you to another room.

We hope that we may welcome you back in the future however if you do have any concerns or issues that you wish to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly to the hotel.

Kind regards
Ras Michamvi & Team

I booked a holiday to this resort for July 2017 and due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to be hospitalised and could not make the trip. We sent a cancellation and request for refund 30 days prior to arrival. Its now 2 months since the cancellation request and I have not received my refund as yet.

Dear Neressa

We thank you for your review, and would like to take the opportunity to assist with the situation.

Ras Michamvi is under new management and unfortunately this booking was done before the handover, there for a refund has been accepted but the administration period is complex.

We ask that you kindly be patient while we try to track your deposit, but rest assured we will do everything we can to assist.

We thank you in advance for understanding.
Please contact us on our personal email for further assistance.
Kind regards

This place is not located in the middle of the action. On the contrary it is placed at the tip of the peninsula with rather deserted beaches surrounding it. And actually this is what makes it a great spot for some relaxing time far from the noisy beaches full of guys trying to sell you something.

The bungalows are clean yet rather modestly equipped with not much in the rooms or bathroom really. Yet, all is clean and situated in front of the pool and the beach. Food is good in the restaurant and the staff are nice but rather inexperienced and with variable command of English.

The resort is not very big so the manager - Charles- has a chance and is willing to chat with the guests to make sure they are OK. It was nice and gives a personal touch to the stay.

This place has a lot of potential if the rooms were perhaps a bit better equipped but its rather remote location and the proximity to a quite beach make a 2-3 day stay a nice getaway from the rather shabby villages in the interior of the island.

Room tip: the ocean facing bungalows are clearly the best
