Description: The Boathouse is Norfolk's most anticipated new venue for 2014. Formerly the Eels Foot pub, the venue has been lovingly restored and extended and now serves traditional pub grub(with the occasional twist) during the day with country and gastro dining in the evenings (carvery option only on Sundays). Food is served from 12 noon - 3pm and 6pm - 9pm daily (Monday - Saturday) and 12 noon - 6pm on Sundays. We use the finest fresh seasonal local ingredients with all meals being prepared to order. Beautifully presented interior with outdoor seating, children's play area and stunning views of the Broad. We can assure you of a very warm welcome at the Boathouse.

Got cold and wet at Horsey Gap seal watching then went to The Boathouse. A warm friendly welcome, one of the best Carvery's we've had. Not too long a queue, plenty of choice, nothing dried out like some places and lots of flavour. Shame we live so far away but will go again when the horizontal rain stops

Have been here before many times.well this time the vegetables were very underdone or not cooked too my liking. This is a shame service and staff all good but the food. Not very edible. This only my opion but as I pay the bill will give it a miss for a while.you must try harder as you set the bar high.

Thank you for your comments and we apologies if the vegetables on this occasion were under cooked. Most of our customers prefer the vegetables al dente, but this is not the same for every customer.

You have mentioned you have been many times before so we would assume you had a good experience previously and its a little disappointing therefore to score us so low on this occasion.

We hope you return soon.

First visit to this establishment located by Ormesby Broad. Large car park but a short walk to the bar/restaurant.
The bar is well laid out with plenty of space between tables. Staff are excellent being swift in service and pleasant to deal with.
Food (3 different choices in the party) was superb.
Will definitely visit again.

We eat here regularly as a family mainly on Sundays for a carvery. It’s obviously set in an amazing location on Rollesby Broad with plenty of space for the beer garden and children’s play area. We’ve always had a good meal with decent service, never had a problem. We’ve never felt rushed to leave table which is great having a two year old.

The carvery is good value for money and has a really good quality selection of all the vegetables I’d personally like to see, especially cauliflower with cheese, parsnips, red cabbage and meat sage and onion stuffing. Which in my opinion rates this carvery well above The Castle in Caister and Toby’s carvery in town. All the bar and different restaurant areas look fantastic with lovely finishing touches too.

Overall it’s definitely worth a regular visit as a local or a tourist visiting the area.

Recommended by the owner of the self-catering accommodation we were in. During the summer it must be popular due to the waterside location, a jetty with boat trips. A modern extension adds to the size of the dining area but remains comfortable, light and airy. Good selection of traditional ales of which tonight's find was from the Humpty Dumpy brewery in Reedham. The menu was tight but varied, I very much enjoyed the baby back ribs (with extra sauce) and the prawn marie salad "hit the spot" according to the better half! Plenty of parking available and accommodation as well.

Thank Ian J
