“Cosy retreat with great wildlife, walks and water activities”

Had a lovely week in Risdene; the cottage is very cosy and packed with board games, books and DVDs to keep you busy indoors. There are also games, boats and bikes for fun outdoors. We enjoyed trying out the canoe, but found the rowing boat a bit more of a challenge to control. The reed beds behind the cottage are a great place for walks and spotting wildlife; we saw barn owls and marsh harriers most days. Local store Lathams provides plenty of provisions, and Bridges is great for tea and cake. We also hired a boat from Maycraft for a few days and visited Hickling and Horning (though couldn't find anywhere in the centre of Horning to moor the boat). Horsey Gap is definitely worth a visit to see the seals basking on the beach. Owners were very helpful and ensured we had a lovely time. May well return!
