Lovely, comfortable, clean cottage set in a scenic location.

Highly recommend the nearby pub the 'Nobody Inn'. The food is amazing.

Highly recommended for a further stay!

“Beautiful cottage”
Reviewed 4 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We stayed in the cottage for just two nights but absolutely loved it! It's clean, cosy and very peaceful! Perfect if you want to go somewhere to get away and relax or go on a few walks. The log fire is fantastic too!

“Excellent cosy winter retreat”
Reviewed 5 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We fled to Barnsfield for some tranquilty between Christmas and New Year, and we were not at all disappointed. If anything, the cottage is even better than the photos. The fixtures, fittings and furnishings are all to a very high standard - in fact it would have been very easy to spend the whole holiday indoors were it not for the fact that we were surrounded by beautiful countryside!
We enjoyed exploring Dartmoor, both in the car and by foot as there are some lovely walks from the cottage. Then to return to the cosy log fire and luxury sofa that you could just melt into for an evening in front of the box - heaven!

“Excellent stay, clean and modern.”
Reviewed 18 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed for 5 days 2 adults and 1 child (2.5yrs old). A lovely cottage very clean and modern. Great views and very quite. Everything you need home from home, very comfy beds and lovely powerful showers. Would visit again but in spring/summer to make more use of the walks. Great places to visit Exeter town for shopping and Torquay and Painting beaches/harbours.

“Lovely cottage in great location”
Reviewed 22 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Close to Exeter and right at the entrance of the Dartmoor national Park, Barfield Cottage is nestled in the Teign Valley in a beautiful landscape. The cottage is very comfy and well equipped (with a washing machine it would be perfect), the upper room is beautiful with great views of the countryside and ... a vineyard, thanks to the efforts of Ben and Caroline the owners who have begun the adventure of wine making... in Devon. Good walks around (the stepping stones on the Teign river are a must), all the good pubs are in the welcome book of the cottage, well documented.
