We have been coming to ardwell for 3years now and it neevr fails! From the moment we arrive to sadly having to leave every moment is spent exploring the beach the woods. These chalets have everything you need to recharge and relax. Sandhead beach is fab for the kids and dogs. The mull of galloway lighthouse walk is a must the views are just wow on a really clear day. Our time here is spent fishing and letting the kids be kids. Cant recomened this place enough! Thank you again cant wait to be back next year
The location of the chalets is amazing, set about 100M from Ardwell beach, so you are lucky to see the most amazing sunrise and sunset every day, along with beautiful rainbows over the bay.
We stayed for 3 nights in Chalet 1 - it was spacious, exceptionally clean, cosy and welcoming, with pleasant decor. There are heaters in every room which even on the chilly October evenings, quickly warmed the place up (tip - take £1 coins for the metre).
There was a double room and a twin (bunk beds) room, living/dining area with views over the bay, a kitchen area and bathroom with bath/shower and plenty of hot water to sooth tired legs after beautiful walks.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come again in future for a longer duration.
Thank you Chris and Aileen - we feel thoroughly refreshed after our fab break at Ardwell Chalets!
Beautiful location, quiet bay however we found that the village sewage drains through three or four thick pipes straight in front of the beach chalets, and at low tide the smell can be overpowering!
Another problem is the boat launch a hundred or so yards to the south, with noisy boats leaving early in the morning.
Add to these the rude - by Scottish standards - personnel, and we will not be visiting again ...
Great accommodation in a beautiful area. Handy for Stranraer, Port Patrick an the Mull of Galloway Friendly helpful manager.
