Bayer Lake Loop Trail is located near Musquodoboit Harbour. It is about 40 min drive from down town Halifax. We took highway 7, and than 107.
The trail starts from the Railway Museum, but we drove further to Park Road (behind the farmer's market building. The directions to the trail are very well marked and it is hard to get lost.
Bayer Lake Loop Trail is a small trail by the side of the lake (1km). It is a part of a bigger trail system that also includes Gibraltar Rock Loop Trail(1.5 km), Admiral Lake Loop Trail(5.5km), and North Granite Ridge Trail(8.4 km).
If you feel confident and arrive early you can go further to Gibraltar Rock Loop Trail. All the trails listed above are bicycle accessible. The area is popular for family hiking and bicycling.
We saw many people take Admiral Lake Loop Trail (No bicycles). This trail have some look out points, but we did not go there.
Bring your camera, bicycle, dog, kids, etc. and have a great time!
