“Lots of Fun”

Sierra Nevada Brewery
Certificate of Excellence
Cuisines: Gastropub
Description: Western North Carolina is known for its love of food and passion for great craft beer. At our Mills River Taproom and Restaurant you’ll find an abundance of both. Visit the Taproom to sample one of our 23 beers on tap, many produced just a few feet from the restaurant. Beers are accompanied by artful, chef-driven food focused on small plate, sharable, whole animal and farm-to-table dishes sourced mainly from local suppliers. We are a first come, first serve restaurant. Please feel free to stop by the host stand to put your name on the list, or grab a beer and head outside to our Back Porch and Beer Garden to take in the views of the beautiful forest or stroll through our Mills River Estate Garden. We use the homegrown vegetables and herbs for our restaurant and small-scale pilot brewery.

Great bear, great food, great time! Sierra Nevada is a beautiful place to bring friends, and family. Although there is wonderful beer for adults, it is a kid friendly environment with lots of space outside.

If you were going to build a temple to beer, it would be this place. Huge copper tanks, a million beers, wonderful outdoor gardens- couldn't be nicer. It is just spectacular. They have a good menu of food here. It is convenient to eat here, and it is lovely. However, if you can eat somewhere else, have a snack here and have dinner somewhere else- you might be happier. There are some people who are thrilled about the grandeur of the place, but others are not. . Some prefer a brewery hidden in the back of an old building and just more grubby and down to earth. if that's you- don't come here. This is Disneyland for beer drinkers.

Food was average. Very expensive compared to every other restaurant in the area. Small servings. VERY loud music piped into the dining area, restrooms and even the self-guided tour area! There was no escape. The tour was badly sign-posted. We got lost and in the wrong place twice. The lamb dish was nothing compared to proper New Zealand lamb and was TINY. Server was average and hard to hear over the ever-present din that was being played. Will never take friends or relatives to this 'experience'. Oh, the beer was good, but then it should be!!!

The food here is just as good or better than the beer. The chicken wings are outstanding. The flatbreads are excellent as well. Don't forget to take a stroll out back through the garden.
