Came here as a pilgram. The Saint Lawrence sea way gives this site a calm and relaxing feeling. Great to take time to pray and reflect. The old church holds the statue of mother Mary that opened its eyes. Very intimate space. The basillica is more modern and is much larger. I attended a service open to the general public here and was quite moved by the priest's sermon. As a part of a group we had several activities scheduled. A taize where they read scripture and then sing(chant), and play instruments. This I believe was a professional musical experience really moved me. They have statues of the stations of the cross, we toured this with the retreat personnel. We had a rosary in the gardens. A candlelight procession. Two masses at the old church were scheduled. I recommend this retreat.
