I pass this place en route to Alexis Nihon and specifically to the IGA supermarket.
Normally, i would do my grocery shopping and then grab some cooked chicken from Grillado's Poulet Grille Peri Peri for lunch.
However, on this occasion i thought why not try Poulet Bronze for a change:
a) its closer
b) have not tried it
On the whole the entire food experience around Montreal has been exceptional.
Alas.....i have now to add a review which is not complimentary.
In my defence, it has to be said this may of been a 'one off' but as a rule a bad experience puts you off places.
So i walked up the stairs to the aforementioned place.....actually, if the snow and ice were still present i would have avoided the place as i'm a 'virgin' to negotiating snow and ice of this magnitude. But, Montreal seems to be in a state of warm weather and the snow and ice were all diminished.
As i entered the place my 'gut feeling' was turn back around and walk out. The gut feeling was not from what i had the night before!!
The place looks shabby and the service lady was at the table eating. Hey i don't begrudge people having their lunch breaks.
Anyway, the service lady rose from the table and came to the counter....i have to add she wiped her hands on a towel that was hanging there near the counter, no effort to actually wash her hands.
I ordered half a chicken no sides just the chicken to go.
She prepared the order, i promptly paid and proceeded home to enjoy my lunch.
Upon opening the carton i was astonished......chicken wrapped in thin flour tortilla. My first thoughts were, this has to be moist. There were some cursory peppers to accompany the chicken. Well i tore of the tortilla in anticipation and what i found was half a chicken that must of been jettisoned towards the sun two years ago anly to be returned as my gourmet meal.....
I had to throw away half of the 'half chicken' as it was inedible, in fact a steak knife would have been blunt if i carved my way through that. I was sure that the parts i could eat would not be detrimental from a bacterial point of view.....as the damn thing had been 'nuked'.
If you like chicken that is 'cooked on the spot' still moist, try Grillado's.
