I came here three years ago and had 2 of their tacos and they were delicious, they had a grilled fish taco with a pineapple salsa... outstanding! The place is tiny but was really worth it! Really out of this world! Now they took the grilled fish taco out of the menu and their tacos are more like fast food... huge and too much of a flavor mixture that does not make sense, a lot and not as good! Too bad, I came all the way from china and was looking foreword to it!

Took my mom to this place right when we landed in Toronto! She can be a picky eater but we both loved this place from the first bite! The service was quick and the staff was pleasant. Not a lot of seating but it was worth it!

I’m a BIG taco fan since visiting Isla Mujeres, Mexico close to 30 years ago. And have worked hard to perfect a Baja taco myself. But, my favourite taco in Toronto is the Gobernator at Seven Lives. It was also very highly rated in Toronto Life’s “Best Taco” review. It comes in first after Ban Mi Boys Chicken Taco.
First of all, this place is a gem of Toronto’s Kensington Market. It’s comes across like a bohemian pop up shop, tiny as tiny can be, (that’s why there’s a line up out the door), (besides the quality of food). And it has an edge to it, like the market itself. The staff play wicked music, for themselves! They actually seem to be enjoying themselves. The menu is small but packs a punch for a light Mexican meal. Classic Mexican pop and homemade juices are for sale right at the counter. A single taco is about $6.00 Cdn.
The Gobernator was the taco raved about in Toronto Life. And it’s all that! There’s smoked

This place is unpretentious. No booze. Just tacos and soft drinks. Most stand and eat their meals or take out. Best tacos I have had in Canada. Don't miss trying this place if you are in Toronto. Don't worry. The line out the door moves quickly!

This is my favorite way to eat! Good juicy meat with some veggies in a corn tortilla or two! This place rocks!
