When we read these reviews, I think it's reasonable to say that not only do different people have different viewpoints, but your review could also depend on whether you're staying somewhere for a night or a week, and whether you have children with you.
That being said we wanted to go to an event at Fort George in Niagara on the Lake and needed three rooms to accommodate my family, (Children, Grandchildren).
Niagara on the Lake was rather expensive, so we looked at Queenston which is only about 10 minutes away, the South Landing Inn was ideally located and reasonably priced. It's a family run, older type hotel but spotlessly clean, and quite charming. For my needs, the location was great, Queenston is an extremely quiet little village that you could easily drive past if you didn't know it was there. If you're going to Niagara on the Lake or Niagara falls this place is just about right in the middle, but away from all the hustle and bustle, you can also park your car close to your room.
The rooms don't have a fridge or even a coffee/tea maker which might have been nice touches, but not that important on the scale of things.More
