We rented Amberlea house for a full week the first week of July 2017. Our party included 6 adults and 3 children under the age of 8. The house was the perfect size, and there was plenty of space for all of our needs. The living room was comfortable with a huge sectional where the kids and adults could lounge when we weren't hanging out by the pool. The pool area was fantastic with more than enough seating and eating space for everyone in our party. We used the outdoor dining table and chairs on the pool deck for most of our evening meals as the weather during our stay was beautiful. The pool itself was a good size and large enough for everyone to enjoy, and was kept at a comfortable temperature and was cleaned on a daily basis.
The location of the house is walking distance to the heritage district, which we did several times with a 2, 5 and 8 year old. There is a nice park with a small pool/fountain for the kids to play in. The heritage district contains lots of restaurants and shops, and the kids especially enjoyed the Cows ice cream. There is small waterfront beach near the golf course where the kids could play in the sand, but probably not suitable for swimming.
We also visited several nearby attractions on our trip to Niagara on the Lake, including Niagara Falls (15-20 Minute drive), The Wild Waterworks water park in Hamilton (30 Minute Drive), Fort George (5 minute drive), and the Niagara outlet malls (5-10 minute drive). In addition, there are numerous wineries in the area that you can visit by renting bikes which are right around the corner from the house.
Overall, the house was in the perfect location for our week long vacation. We spent the mornings going on adventures/excursions and the afternoons/evenings relaxing, eating and drinking by the pool. The house was clean, and well maintained, and provided all the necessities we needed. The only thing we had to provide was our groceries.
I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to do a family vacation in the Niagara on the Lake region.
Wonderful stay right in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Beautiful pool and very convenient to wineries. This is our second stay in this house and we are planning on going back. Perfect for families / large groups.
We loved our week at Amberlea! We could walk to town, including for groceries. We could walk to a beautiful park on the lake. And the restaurants we visited were very nice. We even rented bicycles to tour the local wineries of which there are many.
The house was more than adequate for our family group, and we enjoyed the patio by the pool and the ability to cook out with the gas grill. The house was clean and well taken care of.
What a wonderful week!
I spent a weekend with 5 friends at Amberlea House for a girls weekend. We had a wonderful time enjoying the house. The location is about a mile outside of town, 20 minutes to walk. We did walk into town Friday night for dinner and it was pleasant. We had a wine tour Saturday and it was wonderful to come back to the house after a full day of tastings to cozy up by the fire, play some games in the spacious living room, and enjoy a family style dinner at the dining room table. The house was large for a group of 6 and we mostly had our own rooms. I would love to stay here again.
We had a great family vacation with our parents and our 2 children at Amberlea House.
Everyone loved the pool and the backyard! The house is beatifically furnished and the beds were super comfortable.
Great location close to 2 really good restaurants and Jackson Triggs Winery. Easy walk to town.
Owners were very helpful! We will be recommending this home to our friends.
