“Perfect getaway”

This place was by far the most amazing vacation we have ever experienced. It is close enough to downtown Niagara falls but far enough to escape the noise and chaos of busy life. This location stands out because its private and not overpriced. The views are stunning. The cottage is clean and well managed. The property owner make you feel like family. Meredith went out of her way to welcome us. We only stayed 3 days and wished we could have stayed longer. I am coming back in the summer with the family and kids. If you plan on staying keep in mind the house is stocked with a ready to use kitchen minus the food. There are local stores to grab groceries to cook and eat lakeside This place is perfect if you want an affordable, hospitable location that will be memorable for all. Sad we had to leave.

“Sublime setting but overpriced”
Reviewed 19 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The setting of the cottage is sublime, in fact nigh on perfect. The host is a lovely friendly obliging woman and while the cottage is quaint I felt it was overpriced. There is no shower, And accepting that the property is old it needs maintenance work. The exterior was dirty, the deck needs waterblasting as it was slippery with morning dew. There is no air conditioning apart from a couple of ceiling fans but none in the main bedroom. The kitchen was old and the cutlery, crockery etc wasn't in good condition.
That aside, everything was comfortable- the bed linen, towels, seating etc was all fabulous. But while it is a magnificent setting literally on the lake shore I feel the price is excessive for the quality of the cottage.

“Lovely Stay!”

This was our favorite place to stay on our trip. We wished we did not waste our time the night before staying in the crowded loud Niagra Falls tourist trap...instead we wished we could of stayed here an extra night of tranquility and peace just a 25 mile drive from the falls. The owner Meridith was heartwarming and kind. She had all kinds of cooking utensils for us to use and a fire pit. We swam im the lake too! We visited the historic town of Virgil and I had the best chocolate moose munch of my life there!!

“Perfect Girls Getaway”

The Lakehouse was the perfect place for my group of 7 to celebrate our friend's upcoming wedding. The location is close enough to run into town for dinner and wine tours, and far enough away to feel the peace and quiet of the region. The cottage sits immediately on the lakes edge, and on a clear night, you can see the Toronto skyline. It was clean, cozy, fresh, and very welcoming. Meredyth was a wonderful host, and was very quick to respond to any questions I had prior to our stay, This is the place to stay if you are looking for a cozy cottage vacation in NOTL!
