Thank you Clark R for taking the time to review your Tour of Nova Scotia's South Shore including Lunenburg, Mahone Bay & Peggy's Cove...Glad to hear you felt the Tour was 100% Worthwhile...I hope you have a chance to return and do one of my other Tours so I can earn that elusive Fifth Star...Merci Beaucoup for your kind words
What a great day, learning all about the history of Halifax. Paul was a great tour guide with a wealth of information. The tour was well planned out and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Nova Scotia.
Thank you Clare H for taking the time to review your Tour of Historic Halifax, Dartmouth & Fisherman's Cove...Pleased to hear you had a Great Day learning about Halifax's fascinating History...Definitely a City that is Steeped in Canadian & World History...The Good...The Bad and The Ugly...Merci Beaucoup for your kind words
The South Shore tour was the final of the 3 tours I did with Paul (also did Annapolis Valley and Historic Halifax). Tour starts with a drive out to Peggy's Cove. Gorgeous rocks on a jurrasic looking shore with a charming small light house. From there went to Lunenburg which is a charming fishing village with many great places to eat and a rich history. Also went through Mahone Bay. Paul fills the day with historical facts and many recommendations. Had around 2 hours in Lunenburg on one's own which allowed time for a great lobster and clam chowder lunch (Salt Shaker) and seeing beautiful churches and homes. Highly recommend Paul McNeil for this tour and his others.
Thank you princebjb2016 for taking the time to review your trilogy of Tours...I am elated to hear you had a Memorable time on ALL THREE TOURS...Merci Beaucoup for your VERY kind words..
My time in Halifax was very rainy. I was there for a conference and limited days for sightseeing. Despite heavy rain on my day to see the city (did also do 2 tours before and after the confernce with Paul before and after the conference to South Shore and Annapolis), Paul showed me and my colleagues the city. He takes you to all the top sights (Public Gardens, Citadel, Dartmouth, cemeteries, etc.) and knows the city and its history thoroughly, In places where the rain was too hard to get out, he stopped and showed videos of the place. Luckily was not raining for the Gardens and fairly minimal for Citadel. Paul is incredilby knowledgable, professional, and kind. I highly recommend.
Thank you princebjb2016 for taking the time to review your Tour of Historic Halifax, Dartmouth & Fisherman's Cove...Thrilled to hear you had a memorable Tour despite the weather...Famous saying in Nova Scotia "If you don't like the weather wait a minute it will change"...It's SO True...Merci Beaucoup for your kind words
Annapolis Valley was the 1st of 3 tours a colleague and I did with Paul. Paul is highly professional, knowledgeable, and later would find out incredibly caring and kind. Started with the Bay of Fundy and then saw bald eagles, got delicious gelato at a place that was not yet opened but the owner opened when she saw Paul arriving, and then delicious wineries and cheese. At lunch, I noticed my phone was missing and Paul traced steps back, called repeatedly, and even took me to a couple of phone companies when it was obvious my phone was gone. Did not get to do the final part of the tour but Paul went almost 2 hours over trying to help me find and replace the phone. Never saw someone go so out of his way to help. Luckily I had booked his other 2 tours in coming days (see other reviews).
Thank you Compass65983103128 for taking the time to review of your Adventure on the Amazing Annapolis Valley Tour...Glad you had a good time but disappointed we didn't find your phone...Merci Beaucoup for your VERY kind words...I am humbled by your comments...
Paul McNeil's small group historic tour of Halifax was the best tour we did during our cruise from Montreal to Boston. When I read the description of the tour on Paul's website and then the reviews on TA I knew this was the one for us. Paul met us in the parking lot at the pier. We were a group of 8 and very comfortable in the van. Paul uses a centrally mounted monitor to visually assist in his narrations. To say this tour was extensive would be an understatement as Paul took us everywhere while constantly filling our brains with more and more historical facts.
One goes to Halifax knowing about the Titanic and how the Carpathia and other ships brought the remains of the dead here for identification. What I did not know was that even in death the way people's remains were treated depended on their class. We visited the cemeteries and saw the marked and unmarked graves.
I admit I did not know about the Halifax Explosion in December 1917 and to me learning about this devasting event has sparked my interest into researching more into it now that I have learned so much from Paul. This part of the tour was the most interesting to me.
The stop for lunch at Evan's Seafood on the water in Dartmouth was an excellent choice and was a good value for fresh seafood, also the view was great.
My only suggestion would be for Paul to speak a little slower. I understand he had a lot of information to get out to us in a limited amount of time but we didn't get everything he said.
This was a great tour and the one I would recommend to anyone visiting Halifax and looking for an overview of it's history from it's founding to modern day.
Thanks James A for taking the time to review your Tour of Historic Halifax, Dartmouth & Fisherman's Cove...Elated to hear you had Memorable Tour of this World Class City that is Truly Steeped in World & Canadian History...James A...My apologies for my speaking to fast...That's my Cape Breton Heritage we all speak fast...I had a Tour today and I attempted to slow down my speaking and ALL the Guests said Today they were able to understand everything I said to them...Thank you for bringing that to my attention and Merci Beaucoup for your VERY kind words...
