We stayed here for two nights and felt the warm welcome from the start. We had a beautifully decorated room overlooking the front - it was so comfortable with a huge bed and a lovely bathroom. The staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing - three courses, different everyday and cooked fresh. It was a short walk to the harbour and we would highly recommend a stay here. We went on the hop on/off bus and went whale watching with Eagle tours - all fantastic.

Room Tip: We were in Room 1E which was spacious, comfy and quiet. What more could you want!

We recently spent two nights at Abigail’s Hotel and happily give it five stars. Our room was spacious, had lovely Victorian decor with an extremely comfortable bed and fine amenities. Abigail’s includes a delicious breakfast with your stay and my husband went out of his way to compliment the chef on what he called “the best breakfast I’ve ever had!”. They offer both savory and sweet options and each morning it was a challenge to make a choice, they were all so delicious. The hotel also offers complimentary late afternoon appetizers which were very welcome after full days of exploring Victoria. The staff were very professional and full of helpful suggestions about places to walk to for dinner and sights to see. Abigail’s is well situated about three blocks above the harbor and we easily walked to the harbor each evening to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of this beautiful provincial capital city.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel at the start and end of our Vancouver Island vacation. This is a small hotel that doesn't have much in terms of property, but makes up for in service and breakfast. As soon as were entered the hotel we were immediately welcomed. They asked for our last name, and before I knew it, our two large bags were gone and up the stairs to our room. Our room was very nice and there was a personalized greeting card and cookies waiting for us. After we went up to our room, we checked out the afternoon snacks, which were very good. The breakfast is amazing! We woke up around 7:00 to the smell of breakfast being made. It's a small indoor breakfast area, we got down there right before breakfast started to get a table inside, and were instantly greeted by someone with coffee. The next thing you know you are getting a pastry, fruit, and ordering breakfast from their daily menu. You don't feel rushed at all, they just have a great staff and chef doing a great job.
I suggest checking out Beacon Hill Park down the street, it is very nice. You might also want to check out the large Catholic Church (Cathedral) just a short walk away. It is very impressive. You can take pictures inside and there is a pamphlet inside that will help you do a self guided tour. We met a nice man inside who was watching over things for the church that made us feel very welcomed. We only stayed for 10 minutes to take some pictures. There is also a very old cemetery next to the church, that might be interesting to some people.
Overall, our stay at Abigail's was amazing and we wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Victoria.

Room Tip: The hotel is very quiet, but if you want to least amount of noise, stay on the upper level of the building.

The staff were so helpful and courteous. Our room was in the coach house with a balcony and a fireplace. We had a fire after a long day of sightseeing. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and late afternoon apps were delicious. I highly recommend and would stay here the next time.

We recently stayed three nights at Abigail's. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. The 3rd floor room was perfect, breakfasts all delicious and the staff helpful and fun to talk with. We were a little apprehensive about the 3 flights of stairs but because there is a landing between each floor, it really was no problem at all. Congratulations to everyone at Abigail's.

P.S.: We were originally going to stay at the Fairmont Empress (1.5 blocks away) but their cancellation policy was so onerous that we opted for Abigail's instead. Glad we did.

Room Tip: Top floor is reputed to be the best.
