Description: Vancouver's Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar provides a distinctive showcase for the celebrated culinary vision of Executive Chef Alex Chen and redefines the fine art of dining with subtle, unexpected and playful approaches to cuisine, service and style. With an innovative approach that blends a respect for the past with a celebration of the present, Chen's seafood-focused menu is grounded in classical technique and training, while artfully infusing casual West Coast flair and creative hints of his international influences. From the all-star, front-of-house team led by Director of Operations Steve Edwards to the acute attention to detail in design to the understated elegance of Chen's cuisine, Boulevard has set forth an uncompromising standard of excellence that is sure to excite both food-savvy Vancouver residents and visitors alike. From early morning to late at night, they will offer guests a variety of culinary experiences: from the stylish dining room, seated oyster bar and craft-cocktail and champagne bar to the vintage-style lounge, private dining room and expansive wrap-around outdoor patio. A crossroads between a classic, European-styled bistro and contemporary bespoke style, the decor embraces local works of art, natural stone and imported Italian marble, up-cycled and refurbished antique chandeliers, white oak floors, violin veneer paneling and subtle accents of bronze and gold.

Not a bad choice for oyster . Came here late night to try their oyster... yummy . They have specialty whiskey to try and a lovely place. It can be crowded and to make your reservations earlier. The place is cosy and classy with very friendly waitress!

The boulevard is the restaurant attached to the Sutton Place Hotel, so it was an obvious place to try as we were staying there.
Chose the seafood tower for two, superb, and looking at the other dishes being served there appeared to be lots of good alternatives.
Service was prompt, and attentive but not obtrusive so that was excellent too.

Well worth a try if in the area.

We attended a private wine dinner with 30 other guests, so I can only comment on the service and food preparation for this event, but the experience was right at the top of the table.
We were first served delicate appetizers, including baked parmesan cheese baskets filled with truffle creme fraiche, smoked salmon mille-feuille and asparagus tips in a pastry shell with wild mushrooms, and sherry vinegar. All were outstanding.
We then were served side striped local BC shrimp with melon, fennel gazpacho, puffed quinoa with lemon balm and a shellfish mayonnaise.
The main fish course consisted of bone marrow encrusted halibut that was perfectly cooked, not a hint of dryness in the fish, served with morels in a cream sauce, savory rinted fava beans and pommes dauphinoise.
The meat course was a spectacular heritage pork rack with a crispy skin, served with an onion puree, smoked porcini,, mustard spatzle and grilled ramp relish..
Dessert was simple, a slice of Le Marechel cheese served with preserved cherries and an almond lavash.
At the end, the executive chef brought all the cooking staff out to talk about the meal.
Although it is hard to recommend menu dishes, the care and innovation that went into this dinner is at a level rarely exceeded, even in Michelin 2(and some 3) star restaurants.
