Description: La Mezcaleria serves authentic Mexican food in Gastown and on Commercial Drive. Dishes are inspired by different regions in Mexico, and are made using traditional methods with fresh, west coast ingredients. Along with a range of tacos, guests will find traditional staples such as tostadas, flautas, ensaladas and share plates in a range of gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and carnivorous options. La Mezcaleria also boasts one of the largest lists of agaves in Vancouver, featuring many rare tequilas and mezcals that can’t be found elsewhere in town. The innovative cocktail list makes use of savoury ingredients, like cilantro, serrano pepper and blue corn, as much as sweet, fruity flavours.

My friends and I had an excellent experience here last night! They definitely live up to their goal of wanting everyone to feel welcome and happy. Its a happening place, so busy when we got there, but we were super comfortable to sit at the bar. We had amazing service, our bartender, Eloyn -- was super friendly, attentive and created delicious drinks based on what we'd like! The food was also incredibly delicious! Great vibe -- we will definitely be returning

My partner and I used to live a few blocks away and frequented this location. We haven't been in a couple of years and we were excited to return. We sat at the bar and ordered the honey dew margarita special and some guacamole and chips to start. The honey dew margarita and the lime margarita ordered after that were both unbalanced, weak and way too sweet. The guacamole was the only enjoyable item we had all night. We then ordered an assortment of tacos to share, as we used to. The fish taco was all batter and undercooked and slimy on the inside, both the carne asada and el pastor were so over cooked and underseasoned, all you could taste was burnt. The meat was like old boot leather. When we mentioned this to the bartender, he said " that's why I don't order the tacos".... nice response? Super disappointing experience overall.

Great buzz, busy restaurant with live music. Made it an exciting place to be. Finished at 9pm. Should have been longer.
Fundido is really cheesy, and nice, but could have been more flavour. $22
Fish taco was good. Good size too. Not too keen on steak, which looked like it was braised, was expecting a piece of steak. Chicken, was ok.
Drinks were food and some on special.
Good night overall because of the atmosphere.

Our local friends brought us here for dinner. Well, they gave us a couple of choices and we chose this one based on the menu. The dishes are not the usual ones we get in London, so we were excited to try something new.

The restaurant itself was cramped, a bit noisy with small tables and uncomfy chairs. All right, so we are couple of middle age blokes and like a place where we can hear each other. People in their 30s will think this place has amazing vibes.

The food was different with interesting flavours. I had lamb shank and my husband had pork, with red onions and served tortillas. But we thought the presentation was a bit messy. It goes with the general atmosphere here.

Glad we came but don't think there will be a second time.
