I absolutely loved the Granville Island Public Market! Seeing the fresh flowers, fruits and food vendors is always pleasant. I was able to find a great personalized gift for my family there from a lot of the locally made items for sale. Plenty of great food available to snack on too. We had some great Mexican food and snacks here on our way. If you are a Once Upon a Time fan, the Granville Island Broom Company made Zelena’s broom. Stop in and say hi to the locals creating fabulous brooms!
Overall, you won’t be disappointed!

Go over on the AquaTaxi for $5 in just a couple of minutes from Vancouver. The Public Market is a gorgeous display of produce, fresh seafoods, pastry, candies, flowers, hand made jewelry, cheeses, and more with eating booths as well. Also many bars and restaurants, music and art shops make for a really nice afternoon.

This market is one of the best organised area i have ever seen in my life. Lots of fun and food. You can also find the Granville island local fruits there.

Yes, the market is crowded, like most tourist markets are, but if you are prepared for that in advance, you will know what to expect. If you want markets that are not crowded there are other place in Vancouver for farmer's markets, etc. However, you probably won't find this kind of variety in one place.

Like most of the other tourists on Granville Island, we bought into the hype and ate at the Keg restaurant just outside the market. Rather than making the same mistake for dinner, we went to the market and loaded up with fresh cheese, meats, and desserts from the market. It was perfect and half the price of our meal at the restaurant. Our kids were perfectly happy to take the food back to the hotel and have a movie night with all of the new and exciting food from the market!

Took the aquabus to Granville Island to see the market, overall it's pretty good. Lots of different shops, plus the farmers market outside. The market has tons of fresh fish, seafood, meats, veggies and more (Lee's Donuts is well known and very tasty). Prices seemed reasonable for the most part. Lots of small cafes for hot food and drinks. That said, I did have two issues during my visit. First, I ordered a clam chowder pot pie. It was good, but much too expensive (~16.00 USD) for the amount of soup I received (very light on the clams, potatoes, bacon). Second, many of the shops (especially the art ones) did NOT accept US credit cards. This is too bad, since I wanted to buy some things from them. Overall, this place is good, but be aware of some of the value and accessibility pitfalls.
