We had heard several people praise this property but had never been able to get a reservation when we wanted to go...eventually the stars aligned and it worked out on a Friday night at 8 pm. Go figure!

Very good service. Nice ambiance. Tasty dishes. But Ickky rainy weather - guess they couldn't control everything for us!

We've never had a disappointing meal here. Reminds us of our time spent in Italy. The staff is always smiling and helpful.

My nephew lives in Vancouver, so it was great to catch up over some authentic Italian cuisine last night. We started with bruschetta then I had halibut which was lovely with roasted potatoes and verges. The hubby and nephew had steaks and thoroughly enjoyed them. I skipped dessert, but the boys enjoyed tiramisu and lemon sorbet. Bellissimo

On 1st Ave E a Renfrew right on route from down town Vancouver to #1 Freeway
Passed by hundreds of times finally stopped, sure glad we did, an excellent meal.
4 succulent lamb jobs with many tasty vegetables. My wife had 2 large chicken breasts and the same delicious vegetables. This after a large bowl each of Butternut Squash soup, which was superb.
Add bread, a glass of wine each and coffee all under $100.00 Cdn before tip.

The restaurant is very clean and tidy and presents itself well in a style that one would see in Italy.
We shared a calamari/prawn/scallop appetizer that was fair. My wife had spaghetti with meatballs and I had a Carbonara dish - we thought both were quite good.
The food and decor border on fine dining but the service we received, while not offensive, was rather indifferent. An example: after we had received our drinks, our waitress came to the table and deadpanned: " Do you know what food you want?" No warmth or personality. On the other hand the hostess at the front door who also came to our table to take our payment was very warm and friendly.
Another service oddity, the older, gloomy gentleman who brought our meals to the table, was unable to muster a smile or even speak to us.
His demeanor was that of someone who had just had his car stolen.
I believe he has a position of authority (an owner perhaps ?) and unfortunately his attitude trickles down to his poor young staffers.
More training and mentoring is needed here if they want to reach a higher level.
If you aren't particular about service, the food is fine and typically priced for Vancouver.
