We spend New Years Eve in Vancouver and stayed at Landmark Hotel. The location was fantastic on Robson Street yet you do need to rent a car in Vancouver. We got a really beautiful room with fantastic ocean view. The check in was a bit slow but not too bad. Stuff was friendly. The gym was under refurbishment the whole week and I wish I knew that as I wanted to train over my stay. Eventually they opened it up just for us and I could see why they shot it. It desperatly needs renovation. The revolving restaurant is nice but not worth to have breakfast there.

I do want to write a review although this hotel is now closed down. I went to Vancouver solo, it was my first long haul solo trip so I was a bit nervous, to say the least. I had never been to the Americas, so it was quite nerve-wracking to see the rather quiet city of Vancouver. The staff in this hotel were nice and helpful, they suggested a few attractions to me and upon my asking, they reassured me that Robson street is safe and non-chaotic at 5am.

Room was clean and nice. It was of an appropriate size for two people. Toiletries are sufficiently replenished every day. I liked the little balcony I had over Robson :D

The hotel located in downtown area. Near to harbour, shopping area and night life. Many restaurants and fast food stalls are near to it. The view of restaurant from the highest floor is spectacular. Will stay there again.

The Hotel itself is stuxk about 30 years in te past. It looks promising from the lobby but after that it goes down hill. It is very dated and not the cleanest. Breakfast was very pricey. The location however was vwey good.
