Words can’t explain the experience of being out on the water with our guide, Terrel, hearing his family stories while having to paddle hard to beat the winds and current. Highly recommended, and my thanks.

This is an essential tour to do if you want to learn about the history of the area. Our guides Thomas and Tyrell were excellent as they told very informative and very personal stories about their families and the land. It was the highlight of our trip! We'd definitely do it again.

Excellent tour for the whole family. Our guide Thomas provided lots of interesting history and local stories. Paddling the dug out canoe through the currents and seeing 1000 year old trees was a unique experience we will never forget.

We were taken out in a traditional canoe by Tyrell who immediately made us feel comfortable and taught us the basic strokes we needed.

It was a privilege listening to the stories of his people and their land.

The perfect tour to combine canoeing peacefully through beautiful scenery, wildlife spotting and First Nations history.

Would definitely recommend and go again!

It was a fine drizzle, but that did not put us off. Thomas and Tsimka were very good at explaining things, very helpful to my friend who has rather stiff knees, and very enthusiastic too. It was surprisingly easy to paddle the traditional canoe, (with welome rests in sheltered coves at regular intervals!) and though the mountains around the sound were veiled in mist, it was still beautiful. It was also fascinating to learn about the various plants and creatures visible in the intertidal zone, how such canoes would have been used traditionally, and more about traditional First Nation society than I had ever learnt before. Both Thomas and Tsimka were happy to answer our frequent questions, and I found it a very rewarding, if wet, experience. (But they kindly lent us waterproof overtrousers, so we were only damp at the edges at the end!)
