Ocean Dream was all we thought it would be and more. Yes its rustic but that's what we liked about it. it had everything we needed for our five nights there. peace and tranquillity but close enough to walk into town when we wanted too. The cabin was cosy and quiet, we loved the beach and enjoyed cooking on the fire pit in the evening.
Verne and Giselle were great hosts and we loved Rocky the dog.
Tofino is just amazing, a lovely little town, unique and friendly.
some great shops, a lovely bakery, coffee shops and a brill supermarket.
We wish we were still there.
I have been to Tofino before, and while there are many rentals out there, I can't recommend the cottage enough. Beautiful, secluded location, wonderfully appointed with great touches, a really comfy bed, close to town and everything you need to have an amazing time in Clayoquot Sound. Verne and Gisele are very cool and hospitable. Definitely recommended and can't wait to go back again.
Rustic, quaint cabin exactly as described. Loved the upstairs , loads of space , a chair for each of us to look out the window, to look at what would have been a great view across the inlet.
Kitchen well equipped , but as within ten minutes walk to town never took full advantage of. Loads of nice places to eat in town.
We hope to go back to Tofino and will be looking at staying here again.
Would recommend to our friends

I write this with 2 days of our 7 day rental remaining. Ocean Dream is a rustic hand built cabin lovingly erected by the owner. He has salvaged old doors and cabinets and built shelves and everything is kind of a mix that makes the place kind of "junkie". Not in a cute way either. The view from the deck is nice, the bed, though not large is very comfy. But the upstairs gets cold. A tiny television is also upstairs but cannot be viewed from the bed. A portable radio/CD player is downstairs entertainment. There is a cramped kitchen with most of the amenities. Close to Tofino and the Pacific Rim sites there were a few little surprises. The shower is great with very hot water. We were offered a huge bowl of fresh picked Chantelle mushrooms and fresh eggs. Wood and kindling were made available for the beachside fire pit. Although the wood was wet. The place was very clean. However...the bathroom being downstairs was difficult at night even with lights on. The floor upstairs creaks and moans. There is a baseboard heater and a fake electric stove that groans and rattles when on and there was a kind of rotten egg smell now and then. The driveway down from the highway passes the owner's unkept house and we often had to avoid cars parked along the path. And also the free range chickens and dog that wandered the upper area. Access to the house is very inconvenient down a steep section to a long boardwalk with steps. When it rains, which it does often, you will get wet. The washer looked scary and so we used the laundry in town at $5 a wash. One afternoon we were very surprised to find several men accompanied by the owner in the yard of the rental. There are no curtains and fortunately we were attired, but someone should have warned us they were coming. There are no screens on the windows, either. This evening we found our car blocked from leaving by another visitor to the main house. I would have to say that this place is adequate but certainly not what a rental in Tofino should be. I wish the owners the best of luck but I don't think I will come back nor recommend this place. It needs updating and refining, better parking...and a proper heating system.
This is a comfortable, well located cabin, with great views. Although it is quite rustic in style, it has all that you need. Access is via a narrow drive then wooden steps/ balcony so it wouldn't be ideal for those with mobility problems.
The balcony overlooking the water is great on a sunny day with outstanding views.
The walk in to town takes about 20 minutes and is safe with a pavement all the way.
I would recommend a stay here with the caveat that it is not a modern all mod cons type of place, but if you're looking for a rustic cabin to stay in you've found the right place.
