Stayed here for a week in July 2016 while my children attended the Island Escapades summer camp. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you could need to cook with. There is a washer and dryer which is super handy for long stays. Be warned that the water pressure is low (I don't even know why this would be surprising, it is a cabin in the woods after all), but we were able to shower, do laundry, wash dishes - just not all at the same time.
Highlight of the stay: If it's relaxation and serenity you are looking for in a holiday, then you can't get any better than here. It's situated on a lake (note: the lake is a very short 30 second walk down a hill, so you aren't actually right on the lake) surrounded by woods. There's a back deck from which you can sit and read a book with the lake and trees as your background. You'll even get a deer or two stopping by the yard. Can it get any more picture perfect? It's super close to town (about an 8 minute car ride), yet far enough away to get that cabin seclusion feel. I have never slept in a more quiet atmosphere!
Added bonus to the stay: Cabin owners are down the hill from you and incredibly accommodating. While staying there you can use their dock and their paddle boat/kayaks/life jackets/sauna. The lake is surprisingly warm- relatively speaking, it is a lake after all - and clean. My children had a blast swimming every evening after camp.
Overall, this is a great place to stay on one of the best island's in this Country!
Stayed for a week with my 19 month old son, my husband, my in-laws and my mother. We had a very relaxing holiday and no one wanted to leave! Loved spending time on the dock and in the boats! Jack gave us some good tips regarding hiking around the island (the fairy trail and Ruckle Provincial Park were our favorites!) The cabin itself was reasonably well equipt (dated, but what you would expect in a cottage or cabin). The BBQ was great (it was new)! The only negative was the water pressure (very low water pressure and if you turned the tap on in the kitchen, the shower stopped working). However, after we sorted out notifying everyone prior to showers, things went fine. The only other thing to note is that the cabin is actually up the hill from the lake, so it is a very short walk down to the dock (sort of a view from the back deck). This actually was perfect for us as it allowed us to let by 19 month old play in the back yard (still supervised of course, but we didn't have to worry about him falling in the water). Overall, we had a really wonderful time and I think the cabin is excellent value for money.
