Owner description: When you have the choice of everything from a thundering steam train to antique midway rides to beautifully preserved heritage buildings and homesteads, deciding what to do first isn't easy. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum, with hundreds of exhibits, rides, shops, restaurants and daily demonstrations and activities to keep the young and the young-at-heart captivated in the past. No two days at the Park are the same, so come back as often as you like for a history lesson you won't find in any textbook. Our operating season is from mid-May to early October each year.

Just wanted to let travelers know to check with Heritage Park to see if the Paddle Boat is in operation. Due to work on the near by dam the water is low. So I beilive it,s dry docked for the summer. Well it's there they will be given it a face lift. Heritage Park is still a great summer day in time.

Thank you for your review! You are correct that the S.S. Moyie will not be available for the Summer 2018 season due to City of Calgary work on the Glenmore Reservoir. We're using this opportunity to perform some maintenance on the boat, and hope to have it back up and running for the Summer 2019 season. We appreciate everyone's understanding!

Had a great day. I went with my sons class. Wonderful people and a great learning experience. The weather was perfect. There is so much to do. The rides were great for the kids. The train barn was super cool, and so was the gasoline alley. Will head back in the future for sure. Oh, and the boat on the reservoir is out of service for the 2018 season. So no boat rides. But still great.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the setting, buildings, staff, food and collections at this park.

The staff really brought the place to life.

You must ride the train as it gives you a excellent sense of the place. If you are an auto enthusiast, Gasoline Alley is a place you can spend hours in.

A visit requires a minimum of 3 hours but it is time well spent.
