We chose ML due to its proximity to Lake Louise, price and discount rate if staying at partner hotel in Jasper. While not charging like wounded bull like the Fairmont hotel down the road the property, and in particularly the room we stayed, in is in need of a makeover. Breakfast was included in our stay but access to the breakfast room would be difficult for those with a disability, due to its location.

Thank you for choosing the Mountaineer Lodge and for taking the time to review your stay. I am pleased to learn that you enjoyed your overall stay with us and that you also got to visit our sister hotel, the Mount Robson Inn in Jasper. We appreciate your comments in regards to the rooms needing to be upgraded. We do have rooms that have been renovated and we are continuing with these renovations this Fall on 32 more of our rooms. Our Breakfast Room is located in the basement which does make it difficult to access for some. However, with that being said we do always accommodate our guests that need alternative arrangements if they are unable to access this. Your feedback is important to us and we appreciate the time you took to assist us moving forward. Nonetheless, we trust you had a wonderful time exploring all that Lake Louise has to offer and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future.

Good place to stay for the money considering the area. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices. Room was clean and the bathroom was more than adequate. Didn't use any of the other facilities, so cannot comment.

We stayed a three nights here and must say overall enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, efficent and couldnt do enough to help on any request we had. They were certainly on the ball when it come to helping out with local knowledge. The room itself was warm and comfortable and well set out. The wifi was strong and reliable. We would certainly stay here again.

Clearly your experience at this hotel is entirely based on whether you have an air conditioned renovated room. I’d read a lot of reviews and seeing the situation booked very early. Our room was quite nice with a queen size bed, pull out sofa bed ( very comfortable ) and nice bathroom. The hotel is not in a particularly scenic spot but has easy access from the highway. We went early to Lake Moraine and Lake Louise and did both in under 1.5 hours as they are relatively close to the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful in mapping out our morning and suggesting late night dinner plans (most of Lake Louise restaurants shut down early and hotel restaurants are your only option). Breakfast is the rather standard fare of “included” breakfasts which was fine with us as we hit the road early. I know some said the train noise was annoying but we never heard it. Overall this hotel worked well for our one night stay in the area. Hopefully all rooms will be renovated and extremely early booking needs become moot.

Thank you for staying at the Mountaineer Lodge and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are happy to hear that you got to enjoy one of our newly renovated rooms, that our front desk was able to assist you with suggestions of activities in the area and that you were satisfied with the complimentary breakfast. We will also be performing another renovation period this Fall on 32 more of our rooms. We trust you had a wonderful time exploring all that Lake Louise has to offer and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future.

The only redeeming factor about this property is that it is conveniently located in the Lake Louise Village, and you pay a premium for it. It's clear that the owners/operators know that their location this gives them a regular flow of customers, and they make no attempts to update the facility, furniture, and amenities, nor do they keep the place clean and comfortable. The staff was not rude, but not helpful either. They are largely disinterested in their tasks, and apparently underpaid by the hotel operator. As a specific example the front desk staff had no clue how the shuttle service to the lake worked, and could not elaborate on the confusing schedule posted. They also had no idea that it was possible to drive up to the lake and park if you had a parks pass. A monkey could have staffed the front desk better than these folks. Very disappointing. Next time I'll stay at the chateau or at a hotel outside the park.

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your comments. We are sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your overall stay with us and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused during your visit to Lake Louise. While we still have rooms to renovate we do have a portion of the hotel that has been renovated. We are also continuing with these renovations as well on 32 more of our rooms this Fall. I wanted to comment personally on your front desk experience. As we are moving into the Summer season we as most other properties are training new employees for the busy season and as such upon our guests arrivals there will be hiccups along the way as they learn our product, systems and the area. We trust that our guests can recognize this training period and support our team. In regards to the Park Pass, this is a mandatory requirement for all visitors staying over in Banff National Park. Unfortunately, this does not give you access to the Parking Lot at Lake Louise if it is full. Everyone is welcome to park at the parking lot when spaces are available however, we encourage our guests to take the free shuttle to avoid the high traffic and sometimes long parking waits. Nonetheless, your feedback is important to us and we appreciate the time you took to share your comments. We trust you had a truly memorable experience traveling through the Canadian Rockies and that you made it home safely.
