The gondolas are small, holding up to 4 people. We had one to ourselves. It was raining but view of the trees was good. At the top the clouds would come and go so we had good views off and on. The displays and videos inside were very interesting. The restaurant didn't open until 11 so we couldn't get a hot meal. The café had cold pastries and sandwiches available. There is a gift shop there with a nice young lady working there. It was worth the trip even though it was raining.

Dear Sue R,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad that the weather cooperated somewhat so that you could enjoy the views. I quite enjoy the mountains when there is a shroud of mystery and the views peak in and out.

Our restaurant opening times vary depending on the time of year. It is a good idea for future visitors to remember to check our website for the most up to date information.

We hope to see you on future visits.

Kind regards,
Craig

I was in town for a business trip so we were limited on time and unfortunately it was raining on the day we planned to go to Banff. Even with the rain though the views from the top were amazing. We walked all the way to the view point at the top of the mountain and took some great photos. As someone that has a fear of heights, I wasn't sure how the actual gondola ride to the top would be, but it was not bad for most of the ride. It is about an 8 minute ride to the top, and it was very smooth.

I would say this is a must do on a visit to Banff.

Hello Krista J,

Thank you for your review. We have added so many activities to the experience that rainy days are just as amazing as clear days. We are glad you enjoyed the boardwalk to Sanson Peak and hope you had a chance to see the interpretive centre on the second floor of our Upper Terminal. We hope to see you back at the Gondola.

Regards,
Graeme

Wonderful views. We had just arrived in Banff that morning. Just sorry we were not able to experience the hot springs which is located just below the gondola. We just ran out of time.
