We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as part of our organised tour. As soon as you walk into this hotel the sense of history and the friendliness of staff makes you want to explore the spaces and find out more. I won’t go into everything we found but can tell you it was worth it.
Our room was situated at the end of a long quiet corridor. The room had two windows with one looking towards the golf course. Very comfortable and clean with coffee and tea making facilities which was appreciated. The bathroom was on the small side but adequate. The only complaint we have is the lack of hot water with luke warm water showers certainly not ideal at this time of the year. The hotels plumber did attempt to fix the issue and we did get warm water for the rest of our stay but only after we ran the water for about 10mins before getting in. Still this does not stop me from eating this stay as 5 star.
We opted to eat at a hotel restaurant that is contained within the grounds, either a short mini bus ride away with staff to help coordinate pickup just outside the hotel. We opted to walk down the path which has quite a lot of stairs and catch the bus back. Lovely food, great service.More
