We enjoyed our meal here. The food was very tasty and the staff and locals very friendly. Worth booking for dinner though if weather is good the beer garden has plenty of room. We really enjoyed our time here and will return. Also dog friendly as our two enjoyed the treats given to them.

We were staying locally so popped in for lunch, which was fab so booked a table for tea that wasn’t as good my scallops were rather tough and chicken salad was a bit dry - the pie my partner had ordered should of come with parmentier potatoes and came with chips but the staff were very friendly and attentive - booked again for tea the next day - my sirloin steak was fab but my other half’s fillet although cooked correctly it was a very poor quality cut of meat and to their credit they offered a free dessert to compensate

Four of us dined outside at this brilliant pub. We just had a main each. Between us a burger, a 10oz rump steak, pork belly and a pinenut and goats' cheese filo tart. It was all delivered to us in good time, piping hot and it looked and smelt amazing. Best of all it tasted amazing too. Everything was well seasoned and the salads well dressed. Servings were generous and priced extremely well. Service was cheerful and efficient. Blooming marvellous.

Wanted something close to Sandown seafront, and whilst this is a 10/15 minute drive into the island, it’s definitely worth it.

Didn’t manage to check out the outside terrace because it was absolutely boiling but the service inside was brilliant.

Lots of specials on the blackboards, and we weren’t disappointed. We had calamari to start and were so pleased to see it looked like fresh bits of calamari as opposed to the frozen calamari rings you get in other places. For main I had the special chicken and ham hock pie which was amazing, and my partner ordered two ‘smaller’ mains because he couldn’t decide. I wouldn’t say that these were necessarily small portions anyway!! Certainly perfect sized for lunch. Really really wanted to have deserts but we were so full (and hungover). We will be back for them though!

I don't know where to start.the staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough, the decor was charming and the beer garden was perfect for relaxing eating either in the wonderful veranda which also had heaters, for us dog owners was a huge field at the rear accessed from the garden and a charming walk to various locations.
Now for the food, well,!,simply put, full credit it was for the quality amazing sold in big plate or small plate sizes.small was more than adequate for most of our party,so much so we returned many times during our stay.do go to this jewel of a place.just don't tell to many people,I may need a table soon.
