What a lovely museum. It's has a lot of local history and plenty of hands on things to do. Different events throughout the year. We did the Easter egg hunt. Was great fun. The olde sweet shop is a must.

So pleased you enjoyed the egg hunt and the sweet shop. We've only recently started selling sweets in there but it does add to the authenticity! We're really grateful to you for taking the time to review us.

We visited this museum on good friday for their easter egg hunt. I wasnt expecting much as i thought it was only a small museum but i was pleasantly surprised. I have kids aged 6 and 8 and they really enjoyed it. Their favourite bit was the technology room with ll the telephones whete you can ring each other. We spent about 3 hours in total at the museum including going to their cafe and having tea and cake.

We like to surprise people Cara, and the museum will soon be getting even bigger as we open our two new galleries in the coming years. Hopefully you'll want to come back now you've discovered us and have tickets that will admit you for a whole year.

Visited on Easter Sunday and had a wonderful time. Easy to find. Lots of parking. Buggy friendly. Lovely staff. Easter egg hunt was a great idea children had to find coloured laminated eggs and trade then for a chocolate. Staff dotted around sharing expertise. Lots of things we hadn't seen before and we're regular museum visitors. Volunteers made history come alive by cooking toast on a real fire. My 5 year old son loved this and had lots to say about how hot it was. Another volunteer played a piano, again invited my son to play. Real blacksmith working. In hard hoop and stick game to try. We need more practice. Lived the telephone area where you could call using old phones. Great for younger ones who have never seen a dial phone. Could be even better if there were plaques explaining a few items. Ticket is valid for a year so will definitely be returning to try out the cafe. Good value.

What a lovely review! You seem to have made your way around most of the galleries and since you're coming back there'll be plenty of time to see and do even more. It's very much part of our philosophy that visitors learn more about the past by using and touching artefacts rather than seeing them in glass cases. Look forward to seeing you again!

Took my parents and two lads aged ten and 14, we all had a great time. Great staff, plenty of hands on things and so much to see.

Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Called in here by accident but what a find. Very hands on for the kids and a serious walk down memory lane for us. From the old pianola to the toasting fork (bread provided)and on to the telephone exchange, which as an ex telephone engineer was my Hubby's favourite, it was really interesting. And the tearooms weren't a rip off, either. Will hopefully be back for another visit in the not too distant future.

Thanks Helen. Glad your husband enjoyed Connected Earth - it's one of our visitors' favourites because almost everything works!
Thanks for taking the time to write a review here. We read and enjoy everyone: they make our volunteers' huge contribution worthwhile :)
