“Magical Christmas getaway”
Reviewed 26 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We have just returned from a Christmas weekend away in Owslow Cottage with our kids and dog. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable break and the owners could not have done more to make us feel at home.
The cottage was decorated with a Christmas tree and tinsel was hung all around the sitting room.
There were thoughtful gifts of crisps, wine and chocolate, which added to the Christmas Day buffet!
The cottage itself was clean and comfortable and the beds were fabulous.
The kitchen is extremely well stocked, even for cooking an entire family Christmas dinner!
We had some wonderful walks to the reservoir and despite some brisk winds we enjoyed the fresh air.
A wonderful little gem, right on our door step.

Stayed for 2 nights last weekend and had a lovely weekend. We arrived Fri eve and the cottage was warm, cosy and welcoming. Very well equipped. It has so much character and was just what we were looking for. Great location for a walking weekend.

“Excellent short break”
Reviewed 7 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We booked to stay the same day due to issues with a previous holiday rental. The owners were great and really understanding. We felt very relaxed and comfortable staying at Owslow Cottage and our dogs loved it too. Great location for dog walks, bike rides and trips out. Some lovely local pubs nearby too. Would certainly recommend and may even stay again in the future.

“Wonderful weekend”
Reviewed 21 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We arrived at 2pm on Friday afternoon and parked up and went for a walk down to the reservoir which is 10mins walk away through the owners fields. The owner bumped into us as we were deciding where to go and he directed us through his fields and made it very easy to get to the lake! He had a lot of local knowledge so if you ever need to know where to go, just ask! They are both very accommodating and super friendly which was brilliant.
We went to the Rising Sun pub in Middleton on the Friday night which is a 5min drive away but had sky sports for the football! Food was very good there. The Knockerdown pub was a short walk away.

The cottage was beautiful. The front door is hidden away which is a quirky touch, but the inside was very good, had everything we needed! The main bedroom was huuuge! With beautiful views over the farmyard and the reservoir! It's in a beautiful location with walks off everywhere and the Lake is a day of a walk, it's massive! They have a restaurant, water sports, bike hire and all sorts of activities to do there if walking isn't your cup of tea.

The cottage would be great for little kids too as they will accompany you to feed llamas and sheep when they are lambing.

Overall we had a really nice weekend and felt at home for the 3 days we were there. Thanks for a great weekend!
