We stayed at Casa Colomba for a week in June with my parents and our three children. The villa was perfect for our group as we were able to split the house with my parents of the top floor and the children and us on the middle floor. Everything we needed for the baby was to hand. There were nightlights and even stairgates/ barriers to stop our 2 year old accessing the stairs.
The garden was beautiful and very safe. There was lettuce and tomotoes in the vegetable patch which the kids loved. There was a big covered veranda where we spent most of our time as it was shady all day . The house was surprisingly cool as we followed the owners advise and kept the windows and shutters closed.
A big plus for us was that the pool could be locked away as it can't be seen from the house .
We didn't eat out that much as the children had to go to bed and still have naps but we did go to a lovely restaurant in the village on our last night. It was fabulous and very good value. We were sorry we hadn't gone before because they were so lovely to the kids.
Although we were worried about the long drive from Rome the directions were very good and it was easy driving. It was worth it to get somewhere a bit "different" as this part of Italy has a much different atmosphere to Tuscany where we had been before. There are less tourists and the people are warmer.
