“Perfect Village”

We rented the home for our family in order to reunite our Son who is Stationed in Japan, and our daughter who was in school in Morocco with our family from the states. We traveled with my Mother, who's family was from a nearby village and my father in law who emigrated to the US from Italy. The home was a perfect base for our day trips. We really enjoyed shopping for our food each day from the local shops, we found all that we needed within walking distance. Mr. Sammarco graciously recommended a van rental for our large group which worked out perfectly. The old world kitchen was the center of our gatherings for our meals, we have many happy memories there.
The highlight of our trip was finding the exact Church in which my great grandparents were married. After a hilarious and circuitous journey around the village a local person generously led us to the church. We made many day trips to local historic sites, shopped in Palermo Centrale, found a perfect little Christmas tree and lights and more.
We found the highways easy to navigate- there is so much to explore!
Now we have the "lay of the land" and look forward to returning. This village is a short drive to and from the airport, and super accessible to the major routes around the island.
Excellent quality meat, fish, wine and groceries are available around the corner- The bread, the Pizza, pastries and wine were superb, and very reasonably priced.

“Enjoyed the Garden”
Reviewed 10 December 2010 for a stay in September 2010

After 7 days we are ready to depart for another 6 in Taormina . It has been great fun meeting the people of Casteldaccia and Palermo , Cefalu`, Agrigento , Monreale, Segesta , et al.
Ruins at Agrigento and Segesta were the best and so scenically situated.
Driving in Palermo was actually fun to see the ‘flow’ of traffic and mostly all the friendly faces of other drivers.
Restaurants sampled included ‘La Rotonda’, ‘Pomodoro e Mozzarella’, and others but we enjoyed them best when we were too tired to cook supper in this wonderfully-equipped kitchen.
Enjoyed the garden in the morning and evening, just sitting out, having a drink and BBQing some sausages. Would love to see the potter’s wheel in use and learn more about the art being created at ‘Casa Sammarco’.
May you all continue to live and enjoy for many years to come.
