“Wonderful quirky and rustic hideaway for total relaxation”
Reviewed 31 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The farm and Gisele our host could not possibly have been better for a rustic and completely charming holiday. The wine barrels feel like fairy lodgings, or hobbit dwellings or something – perfect enclaves to squirrel yourself away in and read a book or sleep, they are incredibly peaceful with very comfortable beds, I am not sure anyone in the group had slept so well in years! The surroundings are also lovely on the farm. Someone deserves a design award for the garden, pool and accommodation layout and design. The freshwater pool particularly is lush, with fish in who are quick to scurry to their area of the pool when we jumped in but enjoyed the whole pool when we were not. The little details across the farm were all fantastic and it is such a relaxing place to be.

There are things to do in the local vicinity such as the lovely pink rock beach at Ploumanch which is spectacular with lovely restaurants, we recommend the Mao restaurant where you can sit outside under the trees, but don’t eat the Breton Sausage (or not to our taste anyway ! Though beware their serving hours, strictly lunch until 3pm and dinner from 7pm – seems sensible but for us used to being able to eat whenever it was not so easily navigated/well thought through by us.

The best thing to do is simply be, we went to the market each day, bought wine and cheese then spent the rest of our time reading books, chatting, playing card games. If you had a bike I imagine the local area would be perfect for daily jaunts and every farmhouse is prettier then the one before. This area is remote but if you wanted city life I am sure there are big enough towns/cities within an hour and the coast was half an hour or less away..

Finally we should mention Gastou, the family dog who is a total sweetheart, you will love him if you have even a passing like of dogs in general.

Thank you so much to the ever smiling and generous hostess Gisele who made our stay so relaxing and warm with her lovely breakfasts and relaxed attitude to everything. Merci and a la prochaine.

Olivia
