We came over here for the day on a transfer from the sister property Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. First I have to say that the transport system between hotels is frustrating at best. The shuttles book up very early, so be sure and book them ahead of time. If you get the urge to go from one to another, odds are not great that you will get on that bus. Some planning is required to go between hotels. The hotel is nice and clean, and the location on Medano beach is fantastic! The area of beach chairs on the beach, however, is very crowded and limited. There are a few rows of chairs just one on top of another, and they are pushed back toward the property behind a rope that the beach vendors cannot cross. It's difficult to even make your way between chairs since they are pushed so close together. It can be a challenge to get an umbrella unless you get down to the beach early, so keep that in mind as well. The sand is also very very hot, so be sure that you have some sort of beach shoes if you're planning on walking very far. Otherwise, the beach area is very nice and kept pretty clean. The water is a little colder since it's the Pacific, and we were there in March so we weren't able to go much past our knees since it was too cold for our liking. Medano Beach is a fun and beautiful location. You've got the views of the arch and the marina as well as the turquoise water, so that's definitely a plus in their favor. Also, you can walk up and down the beach and visit the sister property next door, the Blanco, and also some fun bars like Mango Deck and The Office are just down the beach from The Rose. Our service was better this time than last time, so that was good, and our charges were accurate, which is an improvement over last time. Our drinks were very good and our pizza and nachos brought to our chairs were hot and very good, so five stars for that! If I were to stay on Medano beach I would definitely consider the Blanco or Rose for a hotel. We did come back that evening to eat at Fellini's, which I reviewed separately.
