We went after it had rained and the trail was very slippery. We had been told we would be okay with only sandals and I guess in the end we were but only after slipping and falling a few times. it would have been much more comfortable to have been with shoes. The guides with us were super helpful and insightful and the scenery was beautiful.

They set up the infrastructure and invest in the local community. Added to this, the guides they use are fantastic and very knowledgeable.

I highly recommend doing a tour up to the 100 Waterfalls. The hike is beautiful! Make sure to bring waterproof shoes (Teva etc.) for the way up because you literally climb the waterfall. For the way back, hiking shoes/sneakers are good because they protect your feet from the leeches. Have fun!

Make sure to book a private guide and go before the large groups from the tour operators start off. Then you will have a very nice trip! Be careful, it's very slippery climbing the waterfall. And be aware of leeches... but you will be awarded with really nice cascades and a stunning view at the top. We've made some experiences touring around here, if you'd like recommendations: contact me.

Went with Tiger Trails on the 100 Waterfalls trip and had a great time. A trip really worth doing in Nong Khiaw. Our guide was great and the trek literally up the waterfalls was an experience.
