We stayed in this lovely cottage/lodge last weekend. It is a very special place. We ate almost all our meals in the garden which looks out over amazing fields (currently full of golden barley.) We went for wonderful walks and thoroughly enjoyed walking into nearby Finchingfield for the paper and a coffee each morning. The pictures on line do not really do this place justice as it is beautifully done up and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We spent many hours sitting out in the garden just reading and watching the wild life and the sun and the shadows. What a lovely place and it was only two hours from our home in North London - we plan to go back.
A wedding in Finchingfield on Saturday 25th June 2016 - beautiful but a shame very heavy showers! On route from London we ventured up to East Ruston, Norfolk to a brilliantly stunning, stylish and huge garden created by two gentlemen! Sunday visit to the Gibberd garden - designer of Harlow Newtown, Coventry Cathedral and the Regents Park Mosque - adventurous garden, dated but imaginative! Then of course the visit to Beth Chatto - not to be missed! Today on the way home we will be visiting Hyde Hall! You have guessed we like gardens!! South Lodge is in a beautiful location, very well appointed and comfortable. Shame about the EU vote and the England Iceland match!!
