Even though the mosquitos were eating me for dinner the food here was amazing!! the quality and the way is cooked was perfect...the drinks amazing. Definitely the best food we had in Tulum. Wished we had saved room for coffee and dessert where you can enjoy in the back of the restaurant in a quaint 'dessert spot' that makes you feel you are inside the jungle..but the mosquitos were on a mission to kill tourists that night. Definitely a place worth going, the octopus was divine! Just bring tons of mosquito repellant although the restaurant does try to smoke them out.

We walked to this jungle side restaurant. Bugs aplenty, spray yourself well. I loved the open air feel and the staff was very attentive. The food was okay but pricewise I expected more.

Phoned in advance to ask whether the place was suitable for wheelchairs and they said yes. Possibly the least-wheeelchair friendly place I’ve ever been - large stone steps to get to table and no chance of making it anywhere near the toilet. Very angry with their staff lying to us on the phone about this.

Dear Sir,

We apologize for the misunderstanding and we understand your reaction, but was never ever our intention to lie to you or to anybody.
It has a quite naive explanation:

- Our host remembering our last experience with a patron on a wheelchair, thought, wrongly of course, that would be a nice idea to try to repeat our last wonderful experience. We had a gentleman on a wheelchair who asked us if we could accommodate him, even knowing the place it s very difficult for it, but the gentleman had a deep desire to have dinner with us on the jungle side and we just carried him around with great pleasure, we all had a great experience (the gentleman left a beautiful review here on TA, which you can read) and we where super happy for him and his family. Carlos, our young host eager to repeat the feat accepted the reservation thinking it was a great idea, forgetting that the other gentleman had gave the tacit agreement to be carried around and felt comfortable with that. We know was not your case dear Sir and we are very sorry for that, for the lack of thought and naivete of our host. Rest assure it will never happen again.

Kindly
Inacio

My good friend and I traveled to Tulum Mexico for one week in early May. We went to Kitchen Table on both a Sunday and Thursday evening for dinner because we loved it so much. We were staying at Diamante K, just a short walk down the road, and it was a restaurant recommended to us. We were told that KT takes 6pm and 9pm reservations and that it is smart to reserve ahead of time because it can get busy, but we took a chance and arrived at about 7pm both nights, and it was not busy at all and got a table right away. KT is situated on the "jungle" side of the road, so you will not have a beach view, but it is has a neat ambience to be around the jungle and trees.

The wait staff were very friendly, and we were seated at a table where we could directly see the chef and kitchen staff cooking, which was very enjoyable. The menu is small, but with very good options to choose from. Both nights we ate here we ordered the ahi tuna with the potato salad which was cost about $20 US dollar and it was excellent. For dessert we had the chocolate ganache with nuts and crystalized ginger, which was also amazing. Wait time for our food was not too long, and we enjoyed simply being in the jungle, chatting, relaxing, and watching the cook staff prepare the meals. Additionally, there is a small seating area separate from the main seating areas to have an espresso, coffee, drink, or some dessert, which was an interesting extra feature. Overall, I would recommend KT for a lovely meal while in Tulum.

Note: KT only takes cash and cryptocurrency, so make sure you bring pesos or USD.
