Case Sophia Tulum was the PERFECT home base for our week-long visit to Tulum. I can't say enough about how great we felt to be in a "home" instead of a hotel. The home itself is decorated with such thoughtful detail - modern everything - brand new appliances, furniture, brand new everything (the owners are the first folks to live there so it's all new).
We were a group of seven adults. One couple stayed in the master, one couple in the "roof suite", which has its own private entrance, two in the bunk beds (not your avg kids bunks - larger and comfortable), and one in the living room bed. The sleeping arrangements worked out perfectly, everyone slept well, and there was plenty of extra bedding (there was even room for a few more to sleep comfortably!).
The wifi worked well and there were even Bluetooth speakers in case we had forgotten our own. It was clear the owners wanted their guests to feel "at home" as there seemed to be nothing they didn't think of. There were tons of (new) dishes, every type of cooking utensil, silverware, pots and pans etc. The art on the walls, the throw pillows and numerous little decorative "touches" all made us feel as though we were living in the pages of Architectural Digest magazine!
It's worth noting that the roof patio is divine. Complete with hammocks and palapa, we spent every morning there and ended every night up there as well.
The location was great too. The house is a five minute walk from downtown Tulum (shops/restaurants). At the end of our block 30 second walk) was a great little restaurant we fell in love with. We could also catch a taxi from there at any time of day or night, which was very convenient. The beach was an easy 5 minutes away. The Mayan ruins were close as well, and so were a number of great cenotes (for a relaxing day at a quiet swimming hole, check out Kaan Loom!). Also worth noting - there was a convenience store just down the block (walkable) and the large grocery market was a 3 minute drive. There is also a place to rent scooters just around the corner (walkable).
I can't really say enough about the comfort and convenience of this rental property and recommend it with the highest regard. The owners are wonderful people who go out of their way to help you plan a great getaway.
This was an amazing vacation, one of the best!! I had never been to Mexico and casa Sophia was beautiful!! It was brand new, as in newly built and it was just perfect!! Josh was so helpful from our initial contact, and he even helped us out with a special request that he did not have to do, such a helpful and giving person....Roberto his buddy was just as helpful an kind, made sure that I was always accommodated and went above and beyond what was needed with information on the attractions and all the good inside info on what Tulum had to offer us!! Huge 2 floors with plenty of room, even though I was a smaller group, 12 people could have stayed, comfortably!! The location was just perfect as well!! A fun bike ride to the beach, but right off the main drag so all the food and such is a walk....yet its far enough away from the loud stuff, perfect location!! I will for sure be going back and staying there when I return to Mexico, and both Josh and Roberto are amigos for life....
This was the perfect place for my first visit to tulum and i defintely plan to stay there when i go back!
Located a short taxi ride from EVERYTHING- mayan ruins, beach, cenotes, town. There was even an incredible restaurant on the block! "Los aquachiles. Casa Sophia is beautiful! Open kichen and living space. Plenty of room for our entire party. It was super clean and whoever decorated has great taste! Loved having outdoor space with a small pool, swings and a hammock! Im a sucker for a hammock! Really enjoyed our stay there and cant wait to get back.
I came to CasaSophia with a group of my best friends from New York City. The Raskins and Roberto were helpful in setting everything up for our arrival. They also assisted in making sure we had the optimal visit. The Raskins left a house book with great recommendations for places to visit. The house itself was perfectly suited to our needs. It was clean and well-stocked. It is located near some great restaurants and is really close to the beach! We loved having the roof deck to watch the sunrise and sunset on.
We traveled with our 3 children (one of whom has significant special needs), two 25 year olds and 2 16 year olds. Case Sophia met everyone's needs to a "T". Being able to cook breakfast and the fully appointed, airy & light filled kitchen was key. The bedroom set up gave everyone privacy and the plunge pool on the roof deck was the perfect spot for us to unwind and regroup in between activities or at the end of the day. The house also comes with games, books & linens.
The Hosts provided an exhaustive guide to eating, sight seeing, beach bumming, snorkeling & shopping. Anything not addressed in the guide was answered promptly by the property manager who was a "what's app" message or phone call away.
My two oldest kids came to me last week BEGGING to go back to Tulum and Casa Sophia!
