“Hidden Gem on La Ropa Beach”
Reviewed 30 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Our family of 4 stayed in the upper house in November for Thanksgiving. We have a 9 year old and a 18 month old. We loved it. The views from the living room and patio couldn't be beat. My favorite spot was the hammock on the patio. The location is at the end of the La Ropa beach, near the path to Las Gatas so it was ideal for beach access. We wanted great views but the ability to walk to the beach easily with a baby in tow. We'd been to Zihua before and I did extensive research and decided on Casa Del Platero's upper house and I'm happy I did.

The shore right in front is rocky so you have to walk a little bit North on La Ropa for more sand, but it only takes 2 min. The locals congregate down below for lunch and on the weekends at make shift stands near the trees and play music so it's nice to get some local flavor. The bus stop and taxis are close by so you can easily get into the centro. The caretakers Laco and Mireya were fantastic and owner Melissa was easy and great to communicate with. If you are traveling with a toddler, be aware that it's not entirely baby friendly (tile floors, stairs, drop offs) so plan on being very attentive!

Thank you for your kind comments. We genuinely love sharing our little piece of paradise and it's always a special pleasure for us when when our guests love and appreciate the same things we do about our home, our staff and beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay. We hope to see you again at Casa del Platero!

Many of our guests choose to come back each year to Casa del Platero and we are pleased and proud of this. We have watched as relationships and traditions have developed over the years between our guests and our staff and I can tell you that they look forward to the repeat visits at least as much as our guests! Thank you to all of our guests for the kindness and respect you show to our hardworking staff. And we're so pleased to be able to share a little bit of paradise with you, too! Look forward to seeing you next time! Melissa and Dave

“A Most Memorable stay in a Wonderful Location”
Reviewed 20 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed at Casa Del Platero in Zihuatanejo during the week of Christmas. We are a family of 6 with one child 2 1/2 yrs. old. It was the perfect vacation. The home is artfully decorated and situated above the ocean with a most entertaining and lovely view and an infinity pool. The furnishings are comfortable and lovely. The staff, Mireye and Laco are so helpful but give you plenty of privacy. Mireye prepared breakfast for us, Laco arranged a successful fishing trip. They made life easy and pleasurable for us. In addition the Owners were very easy to communicate with and answered questions & concerns without hesitation. We are looking forward to returning again to this beautiful location!!
