We arrived in Puerto Vallarta Jan 27, 2018, I called Terrance and Nancy from the airport. They had offered to pickup my group from the airport with no extra cost to us. The condo was clean and inviting, Terrance even allowed my group to enter the condo a few hours before check In. The pool and surrounding area was well kept and staff were very approachable.
Low water pressure, if one person showered or flushed the toilet you would have to wait till they were finished.
The WiFi was working most of our stay, without it the last 4 days.
We had a shower head issue with very little water coming out, it was repaired the same day.
Neighbors very polite.
Neighbor offered his WiFi wireless password the last 4 days of our stay.
The Kitchen was well stocked with dishes.
The dishwasher worked. :)
Terry the owner was fantastic. He picked us up from the airport and dropped us off. He was always close by if we needed help with anything. A very nice gentleman.
The marina area is quiet (although there was a renovation going on in one of the condo's that got a little loud). I always felt safe and the condo staff was amazing, we couldn't set anything down without someone coming along to help carry our stuff. The marina restaurants are great and only a 10 minute walk. The Thursday night market in the marina is a must see. The products were better quality than anything else I had seen, some real talent there.
The condo was well appointed and right by the pool. Ground level to the pool was handy and used a lot.
I would like to make this a yearly retreat and I would love to stay in Terry's condo.
GREAT TIME and GREAT MEMORIES on Isla Iguana / PVR and we made a new friend with Terry Murphy. My husband and I traveled with our 2 yr old son, our moms and my sis. We went for New Years and it was a GREAT start to a new tradition! Viewing the photos online do not do the place justice. The place is nicely decorated inside and out, it's very welcoming and homely. We prefer staying in rental props, they usually have more overall and feel more like a home!! It is very accommodating, from the neighbors on the island, the staff (it's a gated community), the grounds, furnishings, appliances, etc, but beyond that, the property owner - Terry Murphy, was just tremendous. He picked us up from the airport (and took us back), took us grocery shopping when we first got there, recommended places to go, see and eat at...we even had 1/2 of of our group have dental work done - he took them to his dentist, AND he took us out on his yacht for WHALE WATCHING and YES we did see some whales and dolphins. Then we continued on to Las Animas to have lunch on the beach and just chill on the sand and swim - LOOK THIS PLACE UP!!! One of the highlights! Paradise!! I've included 2 photos.
On our last night we had a great meal with Terry at one of his fav places (El Brujo), Great food, Good times!!
We could have stayed at a more expensive place, but I guarantee you we would not have gotten this type of generous service!
We have a little one so it was important to have a safe area for him to play, run and walk around. We took him on walks around the island marina daily (photo included) and there is a grassy area around the pool. The pool was perfect, there is a wading step/shelf in the pool and there is even a kiddie pool, but don't let them drink the water in either! Not that it's dirty, just diff to our health systems. I thought we'd wanna spend our time on the beach (I'm a beach baby), but having the pool was perfect. We did go to the Malecon / beach (15 min cab ride or bus trip) several times, but mostly for shopping, site seeing and new years. Also, within walking distance (10 min) there is another cool, but smaller marina. Use your gate key to get there through a back way (not on the street)**Ask Terry. And at this marina we had the best eggs (poached) and huevos rancheros, says it's an italian joint, but there food was good 'ol Mexican! - ask Terry for the name, he eats there 2-4 times a week and the price - 5 bucks!!! Great to walk around, eat, see iguanas, although they are just about everywhere.
Almost forgot - Bedding for little ones, they had a pack n play stashed away in one of the closets - we got to use that for our son! It was perfect, especially since our guy rolls off beds!
Things to note and keep in mind: not pictured in the rental prop - the master has a spacious balcony overlooking the pool and grounds. Nice surprise! Also, the master bathroom is an open area, no door for the toilet. The shower takes about 5 min to get warm, and the shower pressure is a tad weak, not a biggie but just so you're aware. The condo has 3 floors, and the stairs are a tad narrow. If traveling with little ones who like to climb, you'll be on constant guard. On the bottom floor there is a back patio that opens to the pool and grounds, and you do have some privacy, It's perfect! FOOD: If you're going to PVR looking for (grilled fish tacos) like you get in the US, you may be disappointed. I am Mexican (living in LA) and the food here in the US is diff from there, guess I should have known! Just be aware. if you are looking for grilled fish, make sure you ask and know what you are getting, or your fish tacos may be fried or shredded. Also, I am a very picky gal and am always concerned about staying at places by the airport. Isla Iguana is about 5 min from the airport, but I only heard 1 or 2 planes during the whole trip and even then it was a very mild noise. Not even a nuisance.
We would go back and we would stay at one of Terry's properties!!!
