The food was wonderful, they drinks were delicious and the guide Kelsey was very knowledgeable and taught us so much,
We had a wonderful day, and being caught in some torrential rain made it even more fun!

What an excellent tour. The Vallarta by Road tour takes you to neighbourhoods & places you may not get to on your own. We met at the Vallarta Food Tours office on Ave Mexico at 10am & our group were greeted by our guide, Juri. We hopped in the van & headed to the 5 de Deciembre market & the cemetery before going to have chilaquiles at our first stop. Even though the cafe we were headed to was closed (Monday after Easter) Juri was able to call another loncheria that accommodated our group. I had never tried chilaquiles before this & I am now a big fan. We then headed to Versalles & had tortas ahogadas at Tortas Ahogadas Tono. These are drowned sandwiches of pork on crusty buns in a tomato sauce. They were so tasty. Our next stop was Pitillal where we stopped at 3 places. We had pibil tacos at Antojeria Pibil, the birria tacos dorado (I'm not sure of the name as the place on the itinerary was closed & this was an alternate) & then tamales at Cenaduria Tia Anita. We headed back to Versalles after this & had shrimp pastor tacos at Antojeria del Mar. They also make the best passion fruit margarita. Our last stop was the Choco Museo. I'm so glad we tried Vallarta Food Tours again after we were so disappointed on our last trip. This trip was so much fun & it was great to get out into the colonias to try some really excellent food. Our guide, Juri was so much fun & so knowledgable. Kudos to her for being able to have other cafes t takes us to when 2 of the scheduled stops were closed. I would definitely go on further tours with Vallarta Food Tours & recommend them to anyone interested in this type of activity.

Thank Cathy Z
