Now that Marriott is all inclusive, this is a better bet if you want to explore and eat outside the hotel. Pool area is quite extensive, so you don't have to curse the "chair reservation" bandits. Service and food options are very good and of course, the Marina and all it's restaurants is a short walk away. Beach is OK, though not to Caribbean standards and swimming not very safe.

We stayed at the Westin in January to celebrate my wife's birthday. The hotel did an excellent job in helping the celebration. Our room was decorated with balloons, animals, candy, and they sent champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. What a great way to celebrate. Maribel cleaned our room daily and did a fantastic job. She organized our shoes and clothes and kept our room spotless. 5 stars to Maribel. The hotel is going through some construction which at times was a noisy. In the past they have offered water aerobics at the pool but his year they did not which we missed. Pedro, Carlos, Sebastian and the others upfront were terrific as usual in helping with whatever we needed.

Lots of disruptions during this stay. The hotel is being remodeled. The reception and lobby area was cordoned off, the jacuzzi was closed for repairs, and there was considerable noise from chainsaws and demolition in the building. We were told that the work won’t be completed until 2025. I wouldn’t recommend a stay before then. The Westin is a lovely setting for a vacation, but right now is in a bit of turmoil.

Super comfortable bed, beautiful grounds, and very helpful and friendly staff who all spoke english very well. It was half empty, so we could easily get a pool lounger every day. It was fun watching the iguanas. Our balcony room had a gorgeous view of Bahia de Banderas.
They seem to be in the midst of a renovation, so reasonably priced value. There was no artwork in our room, which seemed odd. The marina was close by and an OXXO store just outside the resort was our go-to for drinks and ice cream.

Our stay was from 1/22/24-27/24. Hotel was not crowded at all. We had no trouble getting poolside lounges daily. Meandering pool is lovely and a comfortable temperature. Use caution getting in/out and walking in its shallow sections. Despite a renovation being underway, we didn't observe the noise and disruption many mention in reviews. The food at Arrecifes restaurant was good but didn't quite match the expectations of the impressive menu descriptions. Staff/service was excellent, most notably Hugo at the front desk and Okimy in the pool/activities areas (an attentive employee as well as a good human). When kayaks did not appear several mornings in a row as promised ("mañana"), Armando when told about the issue made them appear the next day (much appreciated). Room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was excellently presented, had a huge variety and tasted consistently great. Poolside service and food was excellent. The few lounges at the beach were always taken. More lounges were available but we didn't see any additional umbrellas which may explain that. Free parking for our rental car was easy. I felt welcomed and properly recognized as a Titanium Elite Lifetime Convoy member.
