At the south end of the new Malecon, where the boardwalk makes a jog to a sidewalk, there are several restaurants. Fronting the beach of Playa Muertos we stopped at Cuates & Cuetes for breakfast but near lunch time. There were tables and umbrellas with service on the sand, even mariachi to serenade you, but we chose to sit inside away from the constant vendors selling jewelry, clothes, souvenirs or whatever you might want. The price was right and there was even a guitar player. Next to the pier one has an awesome view. The food was not outstanding, but certainly okay and satisfying. The decor was different with many dried corn husks hanging from the ceiling and walls. They change with the season. It looked like they offer music everyday and probably year round. It would surely be worth a second visit. With a bar, food, music and view what more could one want?
