With the world full of great destinations we usually never return to the same place for our vacations. HOWEVER, we have found that the wonderful staff, service and convenience of visiting our favorite "happy place" brings us back to the Villa del Palmar in Loreto time after time. In fact we are planning a fall trip right now and bringing our kids and their kids. If you live in Los Angeles you can depart from LAX via Alaska Airlines in the morning and be enjoying your margarita and guacamole poolside in the early afternoon. Managers Miquel and Sixto work overtime to assure that everyone is royally welcomed and assured of a great stay. The last several times used their friendly activity desk to arrange for fishing and snorkeling. These trips are always great fun, professionally run with safety and enjoyment a priority (and the very accommodating kitchen staff prepared our the fish we caught in gourmet style). There are some great offsite trips as well that can be arranged. Can't say enough about the friendly, conscientious staff and the beautiful location on the Sea of Cortez. No need to rent a car as van service is available to and from the airport and to and from the town of Loreto and local excusions. I should mention that although we are not golfers, they have recently opened the most beautiful course I have ever seen. Happy travels.

Room Tip: All rooms look out on the Sea of Cortez. Probably not a bad room in the hotel

Every year, I travel to the Villa del Palmar Loreto, and every year, the only person I will talk to about my trip is pre-arrival concierge, Jazzi. Why? Because Jazzi knows her stuff, she has a great sense of humour, she is always patient, and she always goes the extra mile. You know how sometimes you feel really rushed? You get the sense that this person at the other end of the phone is just dying to get rid of you and onto the next call? Not Jazzi. She super efficient, but always makes you feel like your call is important, and it matters to get things right. She knows reservation details, prices, rules and regulations about bookings inside and out, and if she doesn't know the answers to your questions, she'll put you on a brief hold and come back with an answer. I travel down to VDP Loreto with a large group of friends, and usually organize the whole gang. Jazzi makes it easy, and makes sure that our precious vacations turn out perfect. If anyone from the Villa Group is reading this, give that woman a pay raise - seriously! Three sets of friends have come down as our guests and ended up buying a timeshare. Your sales people know their job for sure, and the place is wonderful, but our experience starts before we even get on the plane - and that's where Jazzi is a great advertisement for your resort.

The Service was excellent. Manny, Roberto and all the pool boys treated us like king and queens. They anticipated our needs and were always close by to assist us.
The Market restaurant prepared the fish we caught twice this visit. It was delicious. We ate breakfast there everyday and service was great. Casa Mia restaurant was great. We had dinner there several times. We had after dinner drinks as we watched hockey and
Basketball games. Desante is always a must for dinner. Food was very good and service excellent. Check in went smoothly and we were treated well. The only reason I did not give my review five stars was because we had to change rooms, due to a bad smell, and twice while we were there the water turned off in the middle of our showers.

This beautiful resort is located about 15 miles south of Loreto, Mexico almost in the middle of the Baja peninsula between the United States border and Cabo San Lucas. If you want an all inclusive, secluded vacation, this is the place for you. Great staff will readily serve your requests and provide a positive stay. The golf course is gorgeous and health spa options are plentiful. The beach is pure sand and the water is warm and quite shallow. We took a snorkel trip around the islands and it was fantastic.
I do not recommend going here during the summer months due to heat and high humidity, however. While the crowds are low, the temperature can be unbearable. Their pools and beach service are great along with kayaks and paddle boards to check out. The kids activities looked great, too. Food everywhere was excellent; try the chocolate clams.
