Wow wow wow
Wow
Wow...
This place is AMAZING! We totally splurged and stayed in a 2 bed beachfront villa. Boy, were we treated like royalty or what!! We felt so rich!! Haha
We cut back on our budget for Bangkok and Chiang mai so we could stay here for the final part of our holiday. SO GLAD WE DID!
Pros..breakfast (holy god..weve been to quite a few places, and our whole family agreed this was the best yet).
More pros...villa is very luxurious, and on 2 of our 6 days, half the day we just layed on our bed and admired the view. Didnt even feel guilty for doing nothing cos we snobbily watched others sitting on daybeds in the sun.
The resort is huge, so people are spread out and never feels crowded. Secluded beach so can escape the crowds of Ao Nang.
People have a sook about the monkey trail on these reviews. SOOKS!! There is nothing bad about it. We went on it at least 8 times never saw a monkey. Yes u have to watch ur step...but when dont you when u walk...seriously. It's simply a steep flight up...flat...then steep walk down. The worst part is the smelly waterway u have to walk over in Ao Nang.
Staff at Centara are lovely and can't do enough for you.
We never had a problem with service getting cocktails at the pool.
We hired Kayaks from Centara and paid for an extra couple of hours on top of the free hour so we could spend the arv at Railay. Our 18yr son and 16yr daughter loved that.
The thai restaurant buffet is worth going to...expensive...but worth it.
The grounds are kept immaculate and everyone is so friendly. This place is by far the best accommodation we have ever stayed at.
We took day trips to Hong Island. Hired a long tail to go to Poda Island for an afternoon. Went to Emerald pool and Tiger Cave Temple. All totally easy to do from this hotel. They have three own speedboat that leaves from the pier all through the day into the night.
All in all, if we were millionaires, we would go back and stay for weeks.
Do not for a second doubt staying here.

We have just finished a week long stay at the Centara Grand. Lovely hotel nestled in a bay. Only access to Ao Nang is either via the speed boat and then tuk tuk, the monkey trial (which I'll come back to) and in low tide you can walk it. Hotel is clean and the staff are super friendly. Although it states it is a 5 star resort, it's more like 3/4 star. The rooms need some tlc. The hot tub was rotten and leaked and the outside lights were cracked and didn't work. Nothing major but not what you'd expect. The food was very good albeit a bit expensive. We didn't opt for the all inclusive package as you can eat out in Ao Nang for as little at £14 for 2 with drinks. The monkey trail ..... take your life in your hands! It's a death trap, how no one has injured themselves is a miracle! The steps are thrown together with odd bits of wood, some steps missing, and it's extremely steep and very slippy. I'm not sure whose responsibility the upkeep of the trail is but it certainly needs repairs and making safe. All in all, nice hotel, lovely view but certainly not 5* and they need to sort out better access to Ao Nang beach than the dreaded monkey trail!

This is quite simply the most beautiful place I have ever stayed! The views are stunning and arriving at the resort by boat will take your breath away. We booked an ocean facing spa room, as it was our honeymoon and watching the sun go down whilst in the jacuzzi, sipping champagne was a memory that will last a lifetime! We had access to the club lounge which served breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and pre-drinner drinks - and we weren't disappointed with the selection of food or drinks available. The resort has 6 restaurants, all of which are fabulous. Theme nights in Coast are definitely worth a visit with DJ Noki playing in the background and the Carpe Diem team - Sara, Marya and Simke are amazing - and even managed to coax my husband into playing volleyball one afternoon! All the staff are amazing, friendly and will go above and beyond to ensure you have the most perfect stay. This was my first visit to this resort and I can definitely say it won't be the last!

I spent a decent amount of time researching resorts in the area & decided on Centara. The experience was great! The resort was nestled at the base of a mountain with its own private beach...only accessible by boat. Our accommodations were nice. Restaurants were expensive for lunch & dinner, but we really only ate breakfast at the resort then took the boat into the town to eat dinner. My most memorable experience was a workout we did outside with Sara. She was friendly, engaging, & exuded positivity. She led us through a full body workout beachside & we bonded over stories of our mothers, our hometowns, & our jobs. I highly recommend this resort & Sara!!!

We came to stay at this hotel by chance... but it turned out to be our best experience in Thailand! This is a secluded resort, out of the mess and croud. To get there the hotel has a fast boat leaving the Aounang pier every hour. The hotel rooms are huge! The design beautiful and food exelent. The only problem is that the food prices are extrimly high for Thailand, and in a way being there you are a captive of the hotel pricing system, as there are no other options around. For example, breakfast cost 1000 baht, which is almost three times the price we payed in our 5 star hotel in Bangkok... so, to summerize, a great experiance if some spending is not an issue to you.
