“Brilliant location - ditch the car keys”

We have just spent a week at this venue. One "Grannie", 3 daughters and other halves, seven grandchildren and four dogs. The house is spacious with all the facilities that you need. The enclosed garden is a real bonus with dogs in mind. There is a very good local shop.

But the absolute highlight of this place is its proximity to the beaches. You can walk to Polzeath (surfer central), Daymer (great for families, far more sedate) and Rock (where you can get the ferry to Padstow). So all the difficult debates about who drinks and who drives go out of the window. You can throw the car keys away for the week.

Note also that you dont have to walk on the main road. If you turn right out of the back gate, you can cut down to the cliff path (stunning views) and turn left for Daymer and right to Polzeath. All in all I would highly recommend this property.

As always we appreciate this helpful review: throwing the car keys away for a week is truly valuable in July and August in this part of Cornwall. As a point of information, we normally only welcome up to a maximum of two dogs at one time.

When a longstanding tenant finally leaves us (family grown up, perhaps), leaving a space in our annual letting availability, it's lovely to welcome a new one, particularly when we get another excellent review, which we very much appreciate.

“Great for large families and dogs!”

This house is in a great location, only a lovely 15 minute coastal walk to Daymer Bay, and only Padstow is also within easy reach. We took small children, teenagers, dogs and Grannies and the house was a hit with everyone of us!

The garden is completely secure for dogs and there is no chance any escape! We hired the whole house so had the use of two sitting rooms so the grannies and children did not have to fight over the TV!

“A wonderful family home with great facilities and a perfect location”

Celebrated my 40th birthday with all the family 13 of us in total at the end of May.
I have to say it’s a lovely house , great size for all of us , good size bedrooms , communal areas are nice and spacious to fit everyone in at breakfast , lunch and dinner !
One minor thing though is if you want to cook for a large group the oven could do with being bigger !

Views are amazing , location is perfect and a short walk to everything you need !

We too had a Tesco shop delivered which was a really good idea but the local Spar has everything you need if you forget anything.

Local beaches Daymer and Polzeath are very good and all the kids (including the big ones) enjoyed the surf .

We had a mixture of sunshine wind and rain but that didn't spoil our fun.

Good restaurants nearby and takeaways if needed in Polzeath.

Local farm shops are a must if you like good food and a trip to Padstow for a seafood dinner in Rick Steins was a really nice experience .

Lovely break and we all enjoyed ourselves and wouldn't think twice about going back to Evergreen Lodge .

“Beautiful house in a great location where you can walk to several beaches”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Our large family of 8 adults, 6 children and a dog stayed here in July 2014. Evergreen Lodge is the most beautiful home with lots of space, prettily decorated rooms and a safe back garden, where neither dog or children could escape from. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you could need and meals can be taken in the kitchen, dining room and of course outside. Plenty of chairs and tables.

Only thing missing, that would have been nice, are a few sun loungers.

The living room is spacious with comfortable settees and armchairs. What was a bonus for the teens in our party was the media room, with a games console and loads of games. Also the huge collection of DVDs etc was remarkable. If we had been house bound with bad weather this would have come in very useful.
The main bedroom with the balcony was pretty and large, as were all the bedrooms. All the family felt very spoilt.

We were very lucky with sunny, warm weather. The sea water was very warm and we spent many hours playing and swimming in it. Being able to walk to the beach was great. I didn't move my car at all except for when we had a very nice fish and chips dinner on the Thursday evening at The Point at Polzeath. Delicious.

We had two favourite beaches. For rock pooling we walked to Greenaway beach and for swimming and days on beach we walked down to Daymer Bay beach.

Tesco delivered to us on the Saturday, which is a great service, but the local shop is well stocked and used daily by ourselves to make up our picnics.

In the evenings we popped over the road to the St Moritz bar where we would have our pre dinner drink. Very friendly bar and lovely hotel.

We took the ferry over to Padstow which was fun for the children and dog. Padstow was very busy and we looked forward to getting back to Trebetherick.

Our week stay went by so quickly. We had so much fun and would love to return. Hopefully we can organise all the family again to do this. Thank you for letting us stay at Evergreen Lodge.

When one of our regular tenants finally drops out one year, we are delighted to have new ones and to get a report that they are equally as appreciative. We value their enjoyment of our holiday home and are grateful for their taking the trouble to give us a review. And, yes, we must do better by getting some new sun loungers
