Oh thank you very much for the lovely comments. Im delighted that you enjoyed your stay at The Blair.
A haven to relax and walk in the neighbouring woods. Saw plenty of wild life. Deers in the surrounding fields and a Hare ran from the from garden. We drove from Wiltshire so it was a very welcome sight. Maureen is a lovely host, but we unfortunately didn't get to meet.
Thoroughly recommend the property, plenty of space inside and out. My little dogs loved the freedom.
Thank you for the lovely review and like you I'm disappointed we didn't manage to meet. I think you are my first guests that I've not met. Not to worry....next time! I'm glad you had a lovely time and the wild life is always an added bonus isn't it. Hope you find somewhere wonderful!
The Blair is truly a little bit of heaven in the highlands.
The cottage is well equipped and there is plenty of seating outdoors with a beautiful summerhouse and also a kennel / run to keep your four legged friends safe.
We arrived, four adults and four dogs for a weeks stay but sadly had to leave early due to a tragic accident which resulted in one of our dogs needing to be put to sleep. At this terrible time Maureen, the owner of the Blair, was amazing. She organised the emergency vet's appointments and followed up with a visit to see us making sure that we had everything we needed.
If you love wildlife then this is the place to be. In the short time we were there we saw deer in the field opposite, cheeky little hares playing in the garden and even an eagle flying gracefully overhead one evening.
The cows in the field next to the cottage always come to say hello.
The cottage is well equipped and spacious inside, it sleeps four easily, there is a well appointed kitchen with lovely views over the fields, it nearly makes washing up a pleasure. The hot water in the kitchen and bathroom are almost instant and the heating, when switched on heats up the whole house in under five minutes.
There is a nice warming lounge and comfortable downstairs bedroom. there is sleeping for a further two people upstairs in twin beds.
I always try to find a fault with everywhere I stay to give the owner something to improve on or ideas to develop. I only found one thing wrong.........the problem is the Blair is a holiday let and not my permanent home. I loved the cottage, the gardens, the location and the views.
When we come back to Scotland we WILL be heading to the Blair again.
How kind of you to find the time to leave such a wonderful review when you are all felling so sad about your lovely little doggie. It was a pleasure to meet you all and to chat with your Dad. I am just so sorry you had to cut your holiday short but I hope you manage to return to The Blair sometime in the future. I look forward to meeting you again.
My husband and I really enjoyed our four nights at The Blair. This little cottage is set in the countryside with cows as your nearest neighbours. The weather was cold and damp for our visit, but each night we would return, turn up the heating and light a fire and soon had thawed out. If you want bright lights and modern decor this is not for you. But if you want to experience a relaxed, cosy, quiet environment, this is perfect. There are plenty of videos to watch, books, brochures and magazines to read, or board games to play if you want to stay home. We found it a perfect position to explore the surrounding area. Seeing a beautiful deer bounding through the field beside the cottage on our last morning topped off our lovely stay. Maureen, your hostess provided a welcome pack of goodies and gave us a very warm welcome.
G'day folks I'm glad you enjoyed your short stay at The Blair! You certainly didn't enjoy good weather but you can always be assured of a warm welcome in the North East of Scotland! The wood burner is a good idea on a chilly night if you don't want to venture out. Im sorry if the décor was not to your taste but I've tried to decorate it so as to appeal to a wide variety of customers but as you left me two lovely little lapel pins Im hoping it did not spoil your enjoyment of staying at The Blair. I owe that deer a huge carrot the next time I see it!!!!
We stayed in the blair in may,for one week, extended family and the dog. We were met by the wonderful Maureen who greeted us like family, this lady is wonderful, nothing is to much trouble, and wil help and assist in any way she can. Her wonderful cottage is like a home from home. Everything you think you might need and more is there! Spotlessly clean and cosy. We have some especially cherished memories of the blair and hope to return soon.
Thank you for the wonderful review it was a pleasure to meet you and have you stay at The Blair....and we did have a giggle didn't we? You would all be welcome back at The Blair anytime, so hope to see you again.
Excellent accommodation. Rural and quiet but near to a great pub / hotel -- The Mill.
This was the 5th time I have stayed here and to me --- it never disappoints.
Thank you for the great comments and always delighted to see you at The Blair and look forward to your 6th visit!
